I’m on a knot spree, ya’ll. I’m going crazy over here trying to find knotted dildos that are ideal for vaginal use, so when I had the chance for a sizable discount on pre-made inventory from Synthetic Sensations, I didn’t just buy one knot dildo… I bought two! First up is Blake, Synthetic Sensations’ dragon dildo.
Reviewing a dragon dildo while reading a book about a dragon, King Sorrow by Joe Hill, just feels extra fitting somehow.
Before I dive into the good stuff, first let me introduce you to Synthetic Sensations.
Get to Know Synthetic Sensations
The two person team behind Synthetic Sensations, or SynthSen for short, had experience making toys prior to starting the British indie small business. Working as contract 3D printers, the two came together to start making fantasy sex toys originally from their bedrooms while between contracts. Even with their small business roots, the indie toy company has now grown to 7 insertable models, 3 knot sockets, 14 masturbators and 2 squish models.
In fact, 2 of their models, Ryvian and Mallow, have received award nominations. The two models have also won popularity contests from FantasyToyBox, a listing site dedicated to help people find platinum cure silicone fantasy dildos, masturbators, grinders, plugs and more, all made by indie toy companies.

Most of SynthSen’s designs are inspired by fantasies and concepts not as well catered to, specifically when it comes to slit/sheath play and docking. Their site gives me sci-fi vibes, while their models range from dragons to canines to equine and more. They shared that we should be on the lookout for some new designs launching in the future too. When I asked them what inspires their pours, they shared that they love bright, neon colors and pride flags, while their most popular pour style are fades.
One of the things that stood out most to me when chatting with the folks behind Synthetic Sensations, is their dedication to community. It was clear to me that one of their goals is to curate a comfortable, safe community vibe. They run regular giveaways on social media, actively respond/engage with followers, and run a Telegram group for their community. To make some of SynthSen’s toys more accessible, they also have partnered with a German indie toy shop, Akifu Toys.
When shopping Synthetic Sensations’ site, there are two options available: purchasing in-stock inventory or purchasing customs. For customs, they offer 4 firmness options, super soft 0015, very soft 0030, medium 0050, and firm 0090. Customers can also select pour style (or pattern), color(s), split base, cum drips, and an optional add-on cotton toy bag. They recently added some new options for customs, fades, marble bases, and cum drips in any color. Each model has a signature pour style, which I believe is the first image shown, though it’s not made particularly clear. For in-stock inventory, it looks like their toys are all sold at the base price, even if the pour style would have an up-charge when ordering a custom.
Meet Synthetic Sensations Blake
Starting with a tapered tip, the dragon dildo, Blake, by Synthetic Sensations has a medium amount of horizontal ridge texture. The head itself has a spaded tip, with a single column of sharp angular ridges, or scales, running down the shaft. Below the tip is a gentle swell, leading down to a outlined knot. Inside the knot’s outline are incredibly gentle, almost unnoticeable grooves. At first glance, I thought it was leftover texture from 3D printing, but it’s very purposefully placed within the raised outline. The amount of texture is on the lower end of the spectrum for a fantasy dildo, though the column of scales is intense and high-profile.

Blake currently only has two sizes available, small and medium. There are dimensions onsite for a third size, large, but I saw a post on bluesky that said they’re not planning on bringing it back themselves. The large Blake is, however, available to purchase through their partner, Akifu Toys.
I purchased a size small Blake at a reviewer discount in soft 0020 from inventory. It’s a two color marble, in what I believe are UV Purple and UV Pink or Pink. The soft 0020 feels very squishy in hand with a lot of give. Size small Blake has the following dimensions:
- Total length: 6.4″ / 173mm
- Insertable length: 6″ / 152mm
- Tip circumference: 4″ / 101mm
- Tip diameter: 1.3″ / 032mm
- Top shaft circumference: 4.8″ / 121mm
- Top shaft diameter: 1.5″ / 039mm
- Knot circumference: 6.5″ / 165mm
- Knot diameter: 2.1″ / 053mm
- O-ring size:

Caring for Synthetic Sensations Blake Dragon Dildo
Silicone has a level of static electricity that causes hair, dust, lint, fur, bacterias, etc to cling to the surface. This is why it’s so important to wash your sex toys both before and after each use. All you need is warm water and an unscented soap that does not contain silicone. If you’re unsure if a soap is silicone-free, check the ingredients list for anything ending in “-cone” and avoid it. Rinse the dildo with water, lather it up with soap, running the tip of your finger between ridges and grooves, then rinse again.
As a non-porous material, platinum cure silicone can be sanitized or sterilized. This is recommended if there’s an oily residue on the surface after using oil based lube, if you’re sharing toys with a new partner, if you’re switching a toy from anal use to vaginal use, or if you’re showing signs of an infection. You have a few options to deep clean like this:
- pop it in a preheated oven set to 350F / 180Con a lined baking sheet for 10 minutes
- make a dildo soup by boiling it in a pot of water for up to 10 minutes. use tongs to make sure it doesn’t rest against the sides or base of the pot, and don’t just drop the dildo into the pot of boiling water. It can splash and burn you, so go slow with it.
- give it a bleach bath in a 10% bleach, 90% water mixture for up to 10 minutes. Rinse it thoroughly with hot water afterwards so there is no bleach remaining on the surface of the toy!
- run it through the dishwasher’s sanitize cycle, but don’t use detergent and don’t put any dirty dishes in the same cycle.
- soak a lint-free cloth in isopropyl alcohol and wipe the toy down thoroughly before rinsing with hot water to remove any leftover alcohol from the toy
While it is safe to store your platinum cure silicone sex toys with other toys made with the same material, it is not safe to store them with toys made with porous materials, such as PVC, latex, jelly, TPE or other toxic materials. Do not bite or scratch the toy, as you can permanently damage the silicone!

My Experiences with Synthetic Sensations Blake
Prior to seeing a post on Synthetic Sensations Bsky about looking to work with reviewers, I didn’t have a lot of familiarity with their offerings. I knew their brand focused heavily on masturbators, which neither Cassie nor I have much interest in testing and reviewing. I checked out their insertable models, and found several that were of interest to me, so I reached out to them to find out more information. I ended up purchasing 3 fantasy dildos at a reviewer discount: Blake, Carmine and Diego.
Knotted dildos have become a bit of a favorite of mine after purchasing Wolf Druid, so I was excited to try Blake. The row of scales on the underside of the shaft had me throw caution to the wind though, and I opted for a softer silicone than I typically prefer. That decision has not always gone well for me, but I took the risk anyway and got a 00-20 squishy soft dildo. My usual preferred firmness is 00-50, but based on experience, I knew I wouldn’t be able to handle the sharpness of the ridges if they were that firm.

I’ve had some not so pleasurable experiences with scale-like texture on fantasy dildos in the past, and I braced myself for disappointment in testing the fantasy dildo. Horizontal texture, high profile texture, and sharp texture tend to be ones that I often skip over, but the more I test those textures in different firmnesses, the better I feel about taking them. Softness is key for me, even as someone who does like a lot of texture. The softness makes the textures not just bearable but also actually enjoyable.
If only I could go back in time and tell past me that the key to textures is starting soft and small…
As a vaginal user, Blake’s knot at 00-20 still felt quite filling even with that level of squish. The scales felt less intense than I expected them to feel, though not as unnoticeable as the bumps on Titan in the same firmness. The high profile of the texture plus the sharpness of the edges are hard to miss, even at this level of softness, and would feel significantly more intense with a higher firmness level. At the 00-20 level, the ridges don’t irritate me during thrusting and I’m actually able to enjoy their shape as long as the scales are facing my backside.
I tried the scales facing my frontside, but even with the 00-20 softness, I felt they were still a bit more intense than I couldn’t handle during thrusting. If I was cockwarming the dildo with the scales facing that way, the intensity didn’t hit quite the same (thankfully).

Speaking of cockwarming, inserting the dildo and leaving it alone as I used a vibrator on my clitoris was an orgasmic delight. The knot’s location on the dildo is almost right to the base, without any length beneath it. This isn’t the best for that “locked in” feeling for my anatomy, as I’d need a little bit more shaft/length beneath it to properly get that feeling. As is, I’ve had to really push the base in to get close to that locked in sensation, to the point where the sides of the base were folding to try to meet the demand.
Using my thighs to help keep the dildo in place, having the knot inserted as far in as possible was also a nice way to feel a bit of a stretch. There wasn’t any extra length for me to rock my hips up and down to enjoy, but the feeling of fullness was enough for me. Using a vibrator on my anatomy externally helped me reach the point of flooding repeatedly during a single session, which has started becoming more of a regular occurrence especially with knotted dildos paired with clit vibrators.
Of course, cockwarming the dragon dildo wasn’t the only way I tested Blake! The fantasy dildo wasn’t the easiest dildo for me to thrust into myself by hand unless I skipped the knotting myself part. The short length just doesn’t function as well for self-thrusting as someone with reach struggles. The base’s size was pretty comfortable to hold, though my tendinitis also flared up a bit trying to thrust the dildo into myself. Synthetic Sensations doesn’t do suction cup bases, so for me to thrust the dildo into myself comfortably, I had to use a double-sided suction cup and my ergonomic handle.

The double-sided suction cup did make it possible to use Synthetic Sensations Blake dragon dildo on my fuck machine, so I was able to enjoy plenty of thrusting with the dragon dildo. The softness of the dildo did mean there was quite a bit of drooping going on, though the size of the small Blake wasn’t enough to put any strain on the machine.
I’ve used knot dildos for knot fucking before, and I found that Blake was a positively intense option to use. The combination of knot and ridges moving in and out of my body together gave me sensations I hadn’t experienced together before. Each time the knot slid in and out of me, I thought I was going to explode in pleasure. It is overstimulating in a really pleasurable way, and one I keep wanting to experience even more.
Even at the size small, Blake’s dimensions are still too big for my anal use so I did not try the fantasy dildo anally. Cassie, my wife, is a size queen who prefers both bigger and firmer dildo options than what I selected for Blake. If either of us tries the dildo anally, I’ll update this review accordingly!

Pros:
- Customize your own or select from ready-made stock
- Easy to insert, tapered tip
- Gentle knot shape
- Low amount of texture for those who want some but not too much
- Easy to clean and sterilize/sanitize
- Upper shaft swell and knot both give a good full feeling
Cons:
- High profile, sharp textures may be too intense for some, especially in higher firmness levels
- Only 2 sizes available directly from SynthSen (3rd, large size only available from Akifu Toys)
- Virtually no length beneath the knot may make it challenging to “lock in” the knot for vaginal users

My Final Thoughts on Synthetic Sensations Blake Fantasy Dildo
Using Synthetic Sensations Blake dragon dildo is quite pleasurable for me, though the sharpness of the head’s ridge and the column of sharp, high profile scales are not probably not for the texture adverse. The softness of the 00-20 worked well for my anatomy to still feel the texture without it ever getting to a point of uncomfortable overstimulation. I found a lot to enjoy about the fantasy dildo, and I’m glad I didn’t skip over it just because I wasn’t thrilled about the firmness prior to purchase. It’s a well-crafted addition to my collection and feels orgasmic with each and every use.
If you’re considering a Blake dragon fantasy dildo from Synthetic Sensations, I would recommend careful consideration about sharp, high profile textures like the column of scales and the head of the dildo. The texture isn’t for everyone, especially at higher firmness levels like 00-50 or 00-90. Softer firmnesses, like 00-30, 00-20 or 00-15, dampen the intensity, which worked really well for me.
