Fruity Bee Toys Shroomie Dildos Review   New!

Just a week or so after I first learned about Fruity Bee Toys, the German indie toy company reached out to me to see if I had interest in reviewing their toys. It was a quick “yes” from me. I have such a huge soft spot for botanical themed toys, and they have 4 very cute models: Lilypop, Shroomie, Lilac, and Ivy. Botanical sex toys aren’t all they do, though! They also have a t-base butt plug and a beehive themed insertable toy.

Thanks to all of the shops that make cute mushroom and botanical dildos, I’m eventually going to have a cute little garden of silicone plants, flowers and fungi. But, before I get too drawn into the idea of making a cute whimsical diorama to house my mushroom sex toys, allow me to introduce you to Fruity Bee Toys.

Meet Fruity Bee Toys

After suffering through dismissive medical care that eventually led to multiple surgeries, Fruity Bee Toys came from a personal need. The owner, Alex, suffers from acne inversa, or Hidradenitis Suppurative (HS), on her intimate areas, which lead to surgeries that impacted how she could explore her own sexuality. Mainstream, mass produced sex toys were too firm, too large, too rigid or too impractical to use, so Alex started brainstorming toys that she could use for herself. Inspired by her beekeeping and gardening hobbies, Alex had an idea for a soft silicone dildo shaped like a beehive, and started researching how to make toys.

Alex’s personal need for sex toy options, like those she’s now creating, also led her down a path to volunteering. For years, her doctors dismissed her, telling her she had no reason to care about the painful pimple-like skin disease. Their dismissal and suggestions of “relaxation techniques” aren’t uncommon, and now Alex uses her experiences to help others advocate for themselves.

Many of Alex’s designs for Fruity Bee Toys come from the plants that her bees helped her grow in her garden, ranging from ivies to lilacs to lilies. Her first design, the Flirty Bee Dildo, is shaped like a beehive and doubles as a dilator. Her design catalog doesn’t appear large at first glance, but upon further inspection, you’ll notice that some models have either multiple sizes or multiple versions that are every so slightly different in some way.

Based in Germany, Fruity Bee Toys does occasional inventory drops that are shared on their Bluesky account as well as limited options for customizations of a few models. At the time of writing this, only 3 of the models are available for customization: Lilac, Bumsy, and Flirty Bee.

Get to Know Shroomie Dildos by Fruity Bee Toys

Fruity Bee Toys has three variations of Shroomie that are each separately nicknamed: Portobello, Destroying Angel and Death Cap. You’ll notice that the sizes aren’t that much bigger or smaller in terms of height or usable length, however the stems have varying thicknesses, with Death Cap as the thinnest and Portobello as the thickest.

Each of Fruity Bee Toys Shroomie dildos have a few defining features that are found on each of the variations: a base with flowers and vines climbing up the stem, an upper mid-shaft swell, small shallow grooves that run vertically from the shape to the cap, a mushroom cap, and bumpy textures on top of the cap (including a heart shaped bump). Death Cap and Destroying Angel each have circular base shapes, whereas Portobello has a bit more of an oval base shape.

At this time, all of the Shroomie dildo models are only available to purchase from inventory. Portobello is not released yet, as of Sept 16, 2026 as I edit this review prior to posting.

Caring for Fruity Bee Toys Sex Toys

Because all of the toys made by Fruity Bee Toys are platinum cure silicone, cleaning them is very easy. Using an unscented soap that does not contain silicone, wash the sex toys with warm water, taking care to get in all of the nooks and crannies. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to fully dry before storing it. If immediate storage is a must, use a lint-free towel to pat it dry then store it with a silica packet to help absorb any left over moisture.

Platinum cure silicone is non-porous, so it can also be fully sanitized or sterilized. You won’t need to do so often, but you should do so if you’re sharing a toy with a new partner, have shown symptoms of an infection, moving a toy from anal to vaginal use, or if you’re buying/selling secondhand. To sterilize your solid platinum cure silicone toys, you have a few options:

• Bleach bath: 10% bleach + 90% water for about 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with hot water afterwards.
• Boil in water: use tongs to gently put the toy in a pot of boiling water so you don’t splash yourself. stir with tongs as needed to make sure the toy isn’t resting against the sides or base of the pot. 10 minutes is plenty of time.
• Dishwasher: do not put any dirty dishes nor detergent in with the toys. Run on a “Sanitize” setting.
• Bake in the oven: place toys on a lined baking sheet into a preheated oven set to 350F / 180C for up to 10 minutes.
• Rub with isopropyl alcohol: thoroughly soak a lint-free cloth with alcohol then gently rub the toy. Rinse thoroughly with hot water afterwards.

Silicone sex toys can last you years, even decades, if you take good care of them. Don’t bite them or scratch them. Don’t store them against any abrasive surfaces nor touching any toys made with porous materials. Don’t use silicone lubricant with silicone sex toys. Only use water based or natural oil based lubricants.

My Fruity Bee Toys Shroomie Taste Test Results

Prior to Alex reaching out to me, I had just learned about Fruity Bee Toys from a member of the indie toy community. I had bookmarked their site to check out when I had more time in the near future, when I got Alex’s message and suddenly needed to spend time looking through their site. Fruity Bee Toys’ site is primarily in German, though you can easily translate it with the right browser. Some of Alex’s designs appealed to me more than others, and some of them just made me plain curious (I’m looking at you, Lilac).

The site is missing something that I find helpful as a consumer: informational listing pages for the models with side by side comparisons of the different variations or sizes available. When I was originally browsing their site, I didn’t notice that Shroomie came in multiple variations, and I only came to the realization after the care package showed up with multiple sizes and shapes of Shroomie. It’s not the worst problem to have, but I believe it would make for a better shopping experience.

When the care package arrived and I realized the differences between each of the Shroomie dildos, I was excited to test them out and figure out the difference in experiences that each could provide.

In use, however, the variations between each model didn’t make much difference. Each of the Shroomie variations felt about the same, which surprised me. There were some minor differences between them, like Death Cap’s 00-50 softness was the most challenging to insert because of the thinner stem wanting to bend as I pushed it in. Destroying Angel in 00-50 was more comfortable when in sitting positions than the same version in 10A.

During my testing, I tried each Shroomie individually and separately. I tried them one after another, all in one session (multiple times, for science). I tried them vaginally while using a dildo anally. I tried them while wearing a butt plug. I tried them both with and without external clitoral stimulation. I tried them with a partner. I tried them solo. I tried Death Cap anally whilst trying the others vaginally.

The point is: I tried the Shroomie dildos in as many ways as I could.

My conclusion is fairly simple: no matter which one is used, the dramatic mushroom cap “head” of the dildo is intense. It’s the most intense part of each variation of Shroomie, the most noticeable part when the dildo is thrusting inside me. Sure, I love a mid-shaft swell, but none of the swells mattered when the heads have such a dramatic shape. The head was all I could focus on during use, both vaginally and anally.

With my anatomy, the head doesn’t hit my g-spot if I have the dildo fully inserted. It’s ever so slightly too long for that, however I found that partial insertion worked wonders if I wanted the head to rest against my g-spot. It was easiest for me to accomplish while cockwarming one of the dildos, and with a vibrator used externally, I found myself repeatedly flooding as I rocked my hips up and down in ecstasy.

Thrusting Shroomie into myself was a big challenge for me. The dildos aren’t very long, so there’s not a lot of extra length to help me maneuver while in use thanks to my short arms/big belly. The easiest and most comfortable way for me to thrust them into myself was if I was on my side. The bases are also on the small side, so they weren’t the easiest for me to grip either, further challenging me. If I wanted movement, the best way for me do so was to use my fingers to repeatedly tap the base while it was inserted.

Even using the dildos with a double sided suction cup while attached to either my ergonomic handle or fuck machine proved challenging. The head shape just kind of locked in place once inserted, and with the ergonomic handle especially, I couldn’t get enough power to move it in a full range of motion. The sex machine helped, but I had to keep the strokes short in fear of the dildo popping out if my body squeezed it too much!

Which brings me to having the dildos used on me. The bases are all small enough that they didn’t get in the way when my partner was going down on me, but my wife shared similar struggles about thrusting them. The mushroom head didn’t want to budge much! The thicker stemmed models were easier for thrusting than Death Cap, and my wife noted that the firmer Destroying Angel was easier for her to use on me than the softer variation.

Though all of the models are anal safe, Death Cap is the only one with a small enough maximum circumference for my anal usage. The tapered tip was easy to line up to insert, but the narrow stem had me holding it by that very stem to push it in, rather than pushing it in from the base. The head felt like it was splitting me open as I pushed it in slowly, and I had to repeatedly pull it away then resume, even with my backdoor warmed up.

Cassie and I didn’t try the dildos in a strap-on harness primarily because of the length. I find that I need slightly longer toys for her to get the right spots when she uses a dildo on me that way. When I strap-on top Cassie, I prefer a bit of length because of my belly occasionally getting in the way. However, Cassie wasn’t interested in testing the dildos since they are smaller than her size queen tastes.

Pros:

• no clear comparison on-site of the different variations of Shroomie models

Final Thoughts on Fruity Bee Toys Shroomie Dildos

As a big fan of mushroom themed dildos, Fruity Bee Toys gives collectors something that Amanita and Moix cannot: a thinner option. While both Amanita and Moix do share some characteristics of Shroomie, they’ve got much larger girths to them that are not for every body, so I’m glad to see thinner mushroom options on the market. I really love the design and getting to try each variation was an interesting test of my sensitivities that I’m glad I got to experience. If I had to pick a favorite of them, I’d say it’s Portobello!

I would recommend Shroomie to anyone looking for a mushroom dildo with a thin shaft. The dramatic head is not for everyone, so be sure to pay close attention to sizing (specifically the maximum circumference, since that is where the head is at its widest). I would recommend 10A firmness for Death Cap if you struggle with inserting toys with a lot of floppiness to the firmness, but the decision is yours. Regardless of what firmness you get, expect a big, dramatic “pop” of pleasure!
