Having previously reviewed two different dual density dildo offerings by Crassie, I was really curious about their single density dildos. Crassie has a lot of single density options, but I kept coming back to one specific model: the Dolphin Dildo. My very first sex toy was dolphin shaped, and the nostalgia of that battery operated, purple vibrator got me, so I requested to review the Dolphin Dildo.
I’m glad that I did, even if I remove the nostalgia from my overall opinions of the dildo. It wasn’t perfect, but there was a perfect use for the pink dildo.
The Basics of the Crassie Dolphin Dildo
Made with platinum cure silicone, Crassie’s Dolphin Dildo is available in 3 sizes with 2 different color options: Blue and Pink. The design is simple, with minimal texture other than a dorsal fin on top and pectoral fins on either side of the shaft. With a short, tapered nose, the dildo quickly grows girthy in size before narrowing down close to after the dorsal fin. The dildo’s base is a powerful suction cup. There is a second Dolphin model by Crassie, which is shorter and aimed at anal play.

Packages from Crassie are shipped discreetly, each containing a Crassie branded storage box with a satin storage pouch and a small “Thank you for buying” card. When shipping multiple toys in one package, it does appear that Crassie only includes one storage pouch.
Crassie does not list the firmness of the silicone they use, so I’m not quite sure the Shore rating. There is some squish, but the dildo is significantly more firm than their dual density options. The surface finish on the Dolphin Dildo is a satin finish that is much smoother than most silicones in my collection. There is virtually no drag on the surface! I got a size medium, which has the following dimensions:
- Total length: 6.3″ / 16cm
- Insertable length: 5.8″ / 14.5cm
- Diameter: 1.7″ / 4.3cm
- Maximum circumference: 5.5″ / 14cm
- Base diameter: 3″ / 7.5cm
- O-ring size: 1.75″ / 4.445cm

Caring for the Dolphin Dildo
Platinum cure silicone is one of the few truly body-safe materials that sex toys are manufactured with. I love it because it’s very easy to clean and can actually be sanitized! The minimal texture of Crassie’s Dolphin Dildo makes the toy very easy to clean. All you need is warm water and an unscented, antibacterial soap that does not contain silicone (look for any words ending in “-cone” on the ingredients list). Rinse it, lather it up with soap, then rinse again and set aside to dry.
To fully sanitize your platinum cure silicone sex toys, you have a few different options:
- boil in water for up to 10 minutes, using a silicone cooking utensil to move the toy so it does not rest against the sides or base of the pot
- soak in a 1 part bleach / 9 parts water mixture for 10 minutes (do not boil bleach!). After soaking, rinse thoroughly.
- run through the dishwasher on a sanitize setting without detergent
- place on a lined baking sheet in a preheated oven (350F / 180C) for 10 minutes
Silicone is non-porous, but it is gas permeable, meaning that scents may stick to the silicone. If your toy develops an odor, usually from a lot of anal use, then try the bleach mixture first.

Storage is also an important aspect of properly caring for your sex toys! Silicone sex toys can be stored touching each other, however they should not ever be stored touching TPE, jelly, rubbers, silicone blends or anything else that you suspect may not be platinum cure silicone. You should also avoid biting or scratching the dildo, and don’t store it against any highly textured or abrasive surfaces.
My Experiences with Crassie’s Dolphin Dildo
When I pulled the Dolphin Dildo out of the care package Crassie sent me, I was really surprised by the firmness of the dildo. They sent it at the same time they sent the Bendable Dual Density Dildo with Grinding Base, which is very, very squishy and soft in comparison. My first toy from Crassie was also very soft and squishy, and I think I expected that even their single density dildos would still have a similar softness to them.
My expectation was wrong. The Dolphin Dildo is pretty firm. There’s some squish, but it’s pretty minimal. Doing a squeeze test with other toys in my collection, the firmness felt closest to the 10A firmness on my large HumpToy Joy. I can squeeze and squish it, but there’s little give to the silicone.

The firmness, for me, was both a blessing and a curse. I’ll start with the curse to get the bad out of the way first.
Shortly after the Dolphin Dildo arrived in November, I decided to try using it during double penetration. With it inserted vaginally, I slowly inserted my go-to dildo for anal, and immediately had to stop. The Dolphin Dildo was far more than I could handle vaginally during DP. My go-to dildo for anal is quite soft and tapered, and isn’t very big to begin with, but I was overwhelmed by the firmness and feeling of fullness from the Dolphin Dildo. Even months later, as I write this in May, I still cannot handle DP with this dildo.
Which is a shame, because I really enjoy that “full” feeling that the firm silicone dildo provides! I’m also experimenting far more with DP now than I was even just 6 months ago, and enjoying it far more than I ever thought I could or would. When I tried DP again with the same dildo combination, I found myself instantly overwhelmed by the sensations again.
But, speaking of that “full” feeling, oh my gods. Dolphin really gave me that delicious feeling of fullness that I love from a good shaft swell. The slight curved design allowed for pressure against my g-spot, and pairing the dildo with a bullet vibrator was a sure way to send me spiraling into the depths of pleasure. It was fantastic.

Thrusting with the dildo was nice, but it paled in comparison to just inserting it and leaving it untouched while using a vibrator externally. Some dildos are made for thrusting, and Dolphin did feel good thrusted into me, but I’d rather enjoy cockwarming with it. I tried both thrusting it into myself and having my wife thrust it into me, and I was able to achieve orgasm that way, but not to the same intensity.
Having Cassie thrust the dildo into me was really enjoyable, but having her just lightly tap the base while she was going down on me was actually much more enjoyable than full on thrusts. The gentle taps on the base gave a slight amount of movement, while still allowing me to savor the feeling of fullness. It paired really nicely with her going down on me, and the base never got in her way either. She said that tapping on it was easier for her than trying to hold the suction cup base.
The suction cup base did make thrusting with the dildo a little bit easier during solo time, but not on its own. The base isn’t really thick enough for me to get a good, firm grip on it comfortably, so I had to use an ergonomic handle with it when I tested thrusting the dildo into myself. With my grip issues in my hand and my short arms/big belly combo, I also wasn’t in the most comfortable position to thrust it into myself without assistance. Thankfully, since no double sided suction cup was needed, the Dolphin Dildo felt really secure when attached to the suction cup handle!

That suction cup base was surprisingly strong too. The firm silicone is at its thinnest at the base, so there’s a lot of flexibility to it, however that doesn’t seem to impact the strength of the cup. I was able to suction the dildo to drawers and use it to open/close them, and I was even able to lift my laptop up and hold it for about ~10 seconds without it budging. I didn’t try any longer than that, because well… a new laptop is not in my budget right now. But, all that is to say that the suction cup is really strong and will likely hold up well during use with a thigh harness or while in the shower or bathtub!
I did not try using the Dolphin Dildo for any anal stimulation or for riding. The girth is too big for me to use during anal, especially given how firm it is. Riding wise, I prefer dildos that are good for thrusting, since riding has a similar sensation. Since I didn’t love thrusting quite as much with this dildo, I just opted not to try riding with it.
I also did not try the dildo in a strap-on, except to check if it fit and see how sturdy it felt. I tried both a 2″ and 1.75″ o-ring, and the 1.75″ was a more firm and snug fit both with or without fasteners around the o-ring. The 2″ was easier to get over the swell if fasteners were already attached to the o-ring, but it was a bit more lose around the base. If you’re able to do so, I suggest putting a 1.75″ o-ring around the dildo before attaching the fasteners from your harness around the o-ring.

This last bit of information is a weird one, but I would want to know this if I were considering buying the Dolphin Dildo. Despite the dolphin shape, dorsal fins and flippers, there is one design element that I’m very glad is not included: eyes. It turns out that I am not a fan of insertable toys that have eyes. It messes with my mind a little too much, and not in a fun or sexy way.
Pros:
- platinum cure silicone has minimal drag
- very easy to clean
- strong suction cup base
- great for a feeling of fullness
- available in 3 sizes and 2 colors
- affordably priced, especially when on sale
- harness compatible
- anal friendly
- the dolphin shape has minimal textures and no eyes
Cons:
- firm silicone has little squish and may be too firm for some
- silicone is inherently static-y, so dust, lint, hair, etc may stick to the surface
- fans of heavily textured toys may find this one lacking

My Final Thoughts on the Dolphin Dildo by Crassie
Crassie’s Dolphin Dildo was a design that got me for nostalgic reasons, but ended up giving me one of my favorite sensations: a feeling of fullness. With the dildo fully inserted to the base and the help of my thick thighs, each time I achieved orgasm with the dildo, I savored the swell and the firmness. Firm toys always feel bigger to me than softer toys, so I’m really glad that I opted for the size medium rather than large.
With a beginner friendly shape and multiple sizes available, I would recommend the Dolphin Dildo to anyone who is interested in dildos with swells, anyone who wants to experience that delicious feeling of fullness, or anyone who just likes cute critter designs.
