Every once in a while, a vibrator comes my way that I’m not expecting to enjoy, only to end up liking it so much that I forget to review it. That, my friends, is what happened with the LELO Nea 2. I got it, somehow, and then it sat in a box for quite some time until one day I thought “I guess I should review this,” by which time, LELO had already released the Nea 3.
Even though the Nea 2 is no longer available on LELO’s website, the newer version, Nea 3 is available. Nea 2 vibrators still seem to be available at some online retailers, though none that I am partnered with.
Meet the LELO Nea 2 Vibrator
As legends within the pleasure product industry, LELO’s Nea 2 vibrator is designed as an ergonomic clitoral stimulator that fits both in the palm of your hand and against your anatomy. It boasts 8 steady vibration intensities and 4 vibration modes, with two button controls to increase and decrease speeds. The body-safe, non-porous ABS plastic is smooth with virtually no drag, and is available in Obsidian Black, Deep Rose, or Midnight Blue. One side of the vibrator has a floral print and the opposite side has a small butterfly, neither of which are raised or textured.
The rechargeable vibrator is also waterproof submersible up to 1 meter / 3ft. It’s got a travel lock, making it an easy choice to travel with. Included in the box are a charging cord, storage pouch, warranty registration card, and instruction manual. Nea has the following dimensions:
- Total length: 75mm / 2.9″
- Width: 36mm / 1.4″
- Height: 25mm / 1″
- Weight: 42g / 1.5oz

Cleaning and Charging LELO Nea 2
As with every sex toy, you should always properly clean LELO Nea 2 both before and after each use. Using warm water and an unscented soap, give the device a quick rinse, lather it up, and then rinse again. It’s very easy to clean, and because it’s made with ABS plastic, you have more options for soaps since you don’t need to skip soaps that contain silicone. A regular, unscented hand or dish soap is fine! All the vibrator to fully dry before plugging it into charge and/or storing.
If you need to do a deeper clean or to sterilize the clit vibrator, you are limited because it is motorized. The best option is a bleach bath for up to 10 minutes with 10% bleach, 90% water, then rinse thoroughly. LELO’s user manual does specifically say to avoid using any alcohol based cleaners, so you shouldn’t use alcohol to sterilize this sex toy.
Charging the LELO Nea 2 is quite easy. The charging port is located on the bottom of the vibrator, so simply plug the included cord into a USB port or charging block, then the DC plug into the vibrator itself. Charging takes an estimated 2 hours, during which the lights around the control buttons will flash to indicate it’s charging. Once charging is completely, the lights will stop flashing and stay on, indicating charging is done. During use, if you see the lights around the buttons turn red, that means that it’s in need of charging. Each charge has an estimated runtime of 4 hours, and if you accidentally leave it turned on in standby mode, it will last an estimated 90 days.

How to Use the LELO Nea 2
After thoroughly charging and cleaning your LELO Nea 2, it’s time for the fun part! Holding the vibrator where the brand name is right side up, the left button is the “off” and – button, and the right button is the “on” and + button. Press the right button to power on the device, then hold it down to increase the intensity. To power down the vibrator, press and hold the left button until vibrations cease.
To switch from steady vibrations to one of the patterns, hold the + button until full power is reached, then release the button before pressing it again. Upon release, the vibrator will switch to the next vibration mode.
If you’re traveling and want to use the travel lock, press and hold both buttons for 5 seconds. The lights will light up for a moment, then go dark to indicate the vibrator is locked. To unlock the travel lock, repeat the process until the lights come on. If you plug the vibrator in to charge while the travel lock is engaged, it will automatically unlock the Nea 2.
Though I prefer using Nea 2 without lubricant, you may wish to use some. LELO recommends avoiding silicone based lubricant with the vibrator, and instead says you should only use a water-based lubricant.

My Experiences with LELO Nea 2 Vibrator
I’m not entirely sure how exactly the LELO Nea 2 came to be in my possession, as there are a few different scenarios, none of which are that important. All I really know for sure is that it was given to me at some point. It may have been by the brand, it may have been by a distributor or a retailer. I probably would not pick it out for myself, as the shape isn’t one that had much interest to me after the last “pebble” vibrator I tried that just wasn’t for me.
It turns out that the last vibrator I tested that had this shape was just too soft and squishy, because Nea 2 has become one of my regularly reached for vibrators. The firm, non-porous ABS plastic allows for better pressure against my anatomy, making it far more effective at delivering pinpoint vibrations right where I want them. Nea 2 also has less drag than the Cashmere Velvet Curve, which is made with silicone instead of plastic.
What I find most surprising is that the Nea 2 isn’t that much more powerful than the Cashmere Velvet Curve, and yet, I still prefer this vibrator over the other. The 8 intensity levels start at what I consider “very gentle” and don’t ever come close to the intensity of the Limited Addiction or Swan Maximum Bullet. As someone who does tend to go for medium to high intensity bullet vibrators, I did not expect to enjoy the Nea 2 when I first took it out of the box.

But, of course, I did take it out of the box, I did charge it up, I did test it. Then tested it some more. And then even more testing… Until finally, I stopped calling it “testing” and called it what it was “using.” I’ve used the small clit vibrator for over two years now, and it’s still going strong.
For me, the LELO Nea 2 started purely as a “ok, I’ve got to test this, I guess…” toy and ended up in regular rotation because of how great it is for warming up. I don’t think I’ve ever started warming up with the vibrator at the lowest intensity. Instead, I’m usually starting on the 3rd intensity as my body works to meet the same level of arousal as my mind. Then, once my body is there, I’m ready to increase the intensity every few minutes before I switch over to a more powerful vibrator that doesn’t start as gently as this.
It’s not just the gradual build up of intensity that got me hooked, though. The smooth ABS plastic also doesn’t have any drag, which means I don’t need to be fully aroused or wet to enjoy it. I can start with this, sans lubricant, and before I know it, my body’s natural wetness takes over. In fact, I prefer not using lubricant with this clit vibrator! Once I add lube, the lack of drag or texture means that it’s slipping and sliding in my fingers, making it much more difficult for me to properly hold.

Comfortability of hold is a factor that I consider for every sex toy that I review because of my own grip issues and, more recently, wrist tendinitis. If I can’t hold onto a vibrator, then I need the capability to use it hands-free, which I cannot do easily with Nea 2. Holding it is a must for me, unless I’m laying on it. I do strongly prefer to be the one holding it, even during partner play. Sure, my BF has held it against my anatomy during PIV and PIA sex, which is nice, but I find it’s easier for me to achieve orgasm since I know exactly where to place it.
Placement is key when it comes to Nea 2 and my anatomy. As a new sex toy user, my BF didn’t quite understand that the first time I brought the vibrator to his place, and he inserted the vibrator into me vaginally. It’s a nice idea, I suppose, and the size and shape were fine, but having it inserted was not for me. It could hit my g-spot… if there was a way to properly position the vibrator. There’s no handle or anything, so it just felt stimulating without any real direction.
Though I tend to use Nea 2 as a warm up to a more powerful vibrator, I have achieved orgasm using just the Nea 2, both with and without penetration. Without penetration of some sort, it took a pretty long while. Which is how I learned that there is an auto shut off after a period of time. I couldn’t find the exactly time for the Nea 2, but according to LELO’s product listing for the Nea 3, it will automatically shut off after 20 minutes. I understand that auto shut offs are to keep devices from overheating or continuing to vibrate after use, but as someone who doesn’t mind taking my sweet time, I hate auto shut offs. I believe auto shut offs are a flaw, not a feature.

With penetration, the small clit vibrator works quickly. I’ve tried it with vibrators, while cockwarming a dildo, while having a dildo thrust into me, and during penetrative sex with a partner. Nea 2 works quite well with all of these, though it stands out most with g-spot stimulation of some sort. Once I get that g-spot stimulation, it’s only a matter of minutes before I achieve a blended orgasm with the Nea 2.
In all of my testing and using of the LELO Nea 2, I did not try to use the vibrator on my wife. It could be used to stimulate the tip of her penis, however, my wife prefers high intensity vibrations. Nea 2 has a nice range of intensities, but none quite high enough to do her much good.
Pros:
- very quiet
- rumbly vibrations
- long runtime of up to 4 hours per charge
- 8 vibration intensities ranging from “very gentle” up to medium intensity
- travel lock
- petite, discreet size
- more reasonably priced than the LELO Lily (same shape and design except silicone vs ABS plastic)
- use for pinpoint or broad stimulation, depending on which surface you hold against your anatomy
Cons:
- lube makes the vibrator very, very slippery and harder to hold
- auto shut off after 20 minutes
- vibrations may not be powerful enough for some users
- Nea 2 is no longer available from LELO directly (replaced by newer version, Nea 3)
- I can’t use it hands-free unless I lay on top of it

My Final Thoughts on LELO Nea 2
I didn’t expect to enjoy LELO Nea 2 as much as I did. The vibrations are an excellent warm up for more, though with a full charge and a bit of time, I’m able to rely solely on the Nea 2 to get me to orgasm. I do prefer using it in tandem with penetration of some sort, but it’s nice to know that I can get there without. After 2+ years of using Nea 2 regularly, I have to admit that I’m also pretty impressed with how well the battery and motors have lasted.
The gentle vibrations of Nea 2 make this a great option for just about anyone with a clitoris who prefers lower intensity vibrations. It’s quiet enough for a roommate or family living situation where discretion is important, and compact enough to easily hide or throw in a suitcase/purse while traveling.
Since none of my retail partners sell the Nea 2, I’ll instead link directly to the Nea 3 (which I have not tried). This is not an affiliate link, though other links in this article may be.

I was likely gifted the Nea 2 at some point, though I’m not sure by who. As with all of my reviews, all thoughts and opinions are my own and I try to be fair and unbiased in my opinions.
