Get ready to hop right into excitement and pleasure with a newcomer to the indie fantasy sex toy community: Bunny Works. Based in the US, this indie maker has hit the ground running with a wide range of sizing, interesting designs, and customizable fantasy dildos.
Recently, Bunny Works reached out to me about reviewing some of their toys, and I was excited to say yes. I received three toys from the shop, all in exchange for honest reviews, and I picked Velphar the Kobold as the first model to test and review. In our conversation, they shared that the design was intended as an alternative option for people who struggle to use knots. I’ve gone down a bit of a rabbit hole with knotted dildos recently, so I was ready to see how the dildo would work for me and my anatomy.
First, Meet Bunny Works
Though Bunny Works as a brand is new, Noodles, the owner and main person behind the indie shop, is far from new to fantasy sex toys! About 10 years ago, she used to work for Bad Dragon and enjoyed making colorful custom orders for the shop’s customer base. Drawing inspiration from art and the furry/anthro community, Noodles has started designing her own toys, as well as working with other designers, to create toys unique to the fantasy sex toy niche.
With a goal of making the best possible toys for every anatomy option, Noodles wants to make toys for the trans and non-binary community. She’s also a big supporter of the artists that she works with, going so far as to shine more light on them than on herself, though I’d wager she deserves some time in the spotlight too. Maintaining a website, physical production, mold making, administrative work, almost all of it really, is done by Noodles. During events, she has help from friends to help manage the table, and she does commission artists and designers for the work she can’t do on her own.
Starting with a solid line-up of 6 models, Bunny Works’ offerings are limited at the moment, but Noodles shared with me that she’s currently working on 3 additional designs. I didn’t get any spoilers that I can share, but I’m looking forward to seeing what she’s working on!
Currently, there are several ways to shop Bunny Works: in-person events or multiple options of online purchasing. Shopping their site offers pre-made signature pours, rogues, flops and customs. Rogues are artist experiments, flops are toys that are usable with minor defects, and customs is where the fun begins with their interactive, dynamic custom tool.
Velphar the Kobold’s Specs and Details
With a top heavy design, Bunny Works’ Velphar the Kobold fantasy dildo is designed with vulva-havers who can’t take knots, including individuals with neo-vaginas, in mind. The design is anal safe too, so it can be used by anyone. Starting with a thin, tapered head, Velphar’s coronal ridge is high profile and the most intense texture of the design. The top of the shaft is humanoid, before quickly narrowing down in a narrow lower shaft that meets the base. There is a low amount of high profile texture, focused on the head and the lower half of the shaft, however the shaft’s texture moves diagonally, which I’ll talk about later in my experiences with the dildo.
There are currently 5 available sizes for Velphar: mini up to XLarge, with the largest and sixth size currently unavailable. There are 3 firmness options and you can pick between Signature Classics colors, build your own, or shop pre-mades. I opted to customize the model, and I selected size medium in standard firmness (00-50) with a Gemstone Fade in Amethyst with a split base color of black with sparkles. The medium size 00-50 Velphar does lean heavily, so don’t expect this fantasy dildo to stand up straight. The size medium has the following dimensions:

Care Instructions for Bunny Works Velphar Fantasy Dildo
Platinum cure silicone, like that used by Bunny Works, is non-porous and very easy to clean. You should wash your insertable sex toys, such as Velphar, both before and after each use since silicone can have a static nature that causes hair, dirt, lint, glitter, fur, etc to stick to the surface. All you need is warm water and an unscented soap that does not contain silicone (don’t use soap that have ingredients ending in “cone”). Velphar’s coronal ridge may require a little extra attention to detail, but not so much that you’ll need a soft toothbrush to help. Simply run a finger under the ridge!
Another great thing about silicone is that you can actually sterilize/sanitize it! Since this fantasy dildo is solid silicone, it has more options for sterilizing than motorized sex toys. Here are ways you can sterilize your silicone dildos, butt plugs, and other solid silicone sex toys:
- soak in a 10% bleach, 90% water mixture for up to 10 minutes then rinse thoroughly with hot water
- boil in water for up to 10 minutes, using tongs to ensure the dildo is not resting against the sides or base of the pot
- bake in a preheated oven set to 350F / 180C on a lined baking sheet for 10 minutes
- use a lint-free cloth soaked in isopropyl alcohol to gently rub down the dildo. Rinse thoroughly with hot water afterwards
- run through a dishwasher’s Sanitize setting without detergent and without any dirty dishes
Cleaning isn’t the only means of caring for fantasy sex toys! You should also make sure you store them correctly, by not allowing them to touch any porous materials such as TPE, latex, jelly or other rubbers. Also avoid storing silicone sex toys against any abrasive or heavily textured surfaces.
And, last but not least, silicone is a strong, durable material that can last you for years upon years with proper care. You should also avoid biting or scratching the dildo, and don’t let it get caught in a zipper.
My Experiences with Bunny Works Zelphar the Kobold Fantasy Dildo
When Bunny Works reached out to me about collaborating, I picked out two pre-made pieces, Rarum and Valefor, from their inventory before the owner asked me if I was interested in testing Velphar too. The model itself wasn’t as interesting to me as the other two, but it did look like a model I’d enjoy. There weren’t any in-stock in sizes, colors, or firmnesses that piqued my interest, so they offered to send me one in a coloration of my choosing since they were keen on getting the model reviewed. In the case of indie toy companies, I’m usually happy to review toys outside of my interests. Who knows what I may find?!
So, all that is to say: Zelphar isn’t a model I selected myself, but I did customize it to my preferences!
As a reviewer, I appreciated that they gave me the ability to shop their site as a customer. Not every shop does this, which is also reasonable. I like this since I can interact with customization tools and share my experiences with the process as well as the product.
While placing the order on their site, I did not realize that the “Build Your Own” option included the option for a split base color. Thankfully, the owner reached out and asked if I wanted a split base color, showing me options for with or without a black sparkly base. I opted for the sparkly black base, which I think works really well with the Amethyst fade coloration. As you build your own, you can pick between solid colors, fades, splotches, mottled, or glow, then further subcategories. One of the things I love about Bunny Works custom builder tool is that you get to see a dynamic example of the coloration right there on the site.
There is a pretty wide range of customization options for their toys, which made playing with the tool a fun part of shopping. I missed the base coloration, and I’m fairly certain that’s user error not a site error. The great communication from the shop made sure I got the toy I wanted.
Upon arrival of the care package, all three toys were individually wrapped in plastic bags that are resealable and thick enough to reuse. They also sent a bunch of similarly sealed tiny versions of their models.
I selected the standard 00-50 firmness when customizing Bunny Works’ Velphar. There’s a good amount of squish, and the top heavy dildo does lean when standing on its base. For me, it was one thing to see how sharp the ridge is online, but another one to feel it. I was worried that the high profile ridge wouldn’t feel comfortable for me at 00-50. When I started putting the dildo to the test, the head was intense, especially if I started off my testing without warming up prior.
The 00-50 is soft enough that even though the coronal ridge looks sharp, it still squishes very easily. It’s rounded along the tip, which is the case for all of the texture on the fantasy dildo. The texture on the thinner part of the shaft is also intense, however its placement is low enough on the shaft that it’s not moving as far internally. I found that it was less overstimulating than I expected, partially because it doesn’t have as much contact surface internally as the head does. It’s also diagonal texture, which I find less intense than horizontal texture.
As usual with me, I opted to start my testing by cockwarming. Going in feels less intense than pulling out, when the ridge is moving against your body. If I was cockwarming the dildo, it did take me longer to orgasm than I expected it to, given the shape. However, with time and patience, I was still always able to achieve orgasm with the dildo inserted vaginally and a bullet vibrator against my anatomy externally.
When I rock my hips up and down while cockwarming, I can feel the tiny micro movements of the dildo inside me. And that head feels really nice like that! The size proportions are really nice for cockwarming, especially if you like a swell. I don’t know that I’d go so far as to say it’s a 1:1 replacement for a knotted dildo, but I see the vision and think I’d need a larger size to appreciate the comparison better. At size medium, I don’t get the stretch that I tend to seek out with knots, but the size large is within my comfortable stretching range.
Thrusting with the dildo before my body was properly aroused wasn’t for me. With proper warm-up prior to using the dildo, the ridge on the 00-50 was a lot more comfortable for thrusting. Arousal and proper lubrication make a big difference in my pleasure with silicone dildos, especially with soft silicones that have a lot of drag or dildos with textures I find intense. I find that a gel like water-based lubricant is really helpful for longevity when using a high-profile texture fantasy dildo like Valphar.
I didn’t do a lot of self-thrusting with the fantasy dildo, though not because the base was uncomfortable to hold. It did fit comfortably in my hand if and when I wanted to self-thrust, but I wasn’t able to fully enjoy the usable length this way. I preferred having my wife use on me or attaching it on my Hismith machine. To use Velphar on my fuck machine, I used a size small double-sided suction cup from SquidlyCo. It held well, though there was a lot of droop between the suction cup and the top heavy dildo design.
For thrusting with Velphar, I am very happy with the size I selected. It feels comfortable especially with the 00-50 being as squishy as it is. With proper warm up, I can enjoy the head moving within me repeatedly. For cockwarming, I wish I had sized up. I’ve used the dildo for cockwarming far more than I have for thrusting, and it’s a good dildo for preparing for something thicker. It’s just that I want the something thicker to be this dildo!
Riding the dildo was a bit of a challenge for me. I think between the design and my grip on the dildo, it’s too top heavy and needs a heavier base than I have available for suctioning it to. The base is also not quite big enough for me to comfortably hold down during riding either. I think if I had a heavier base for suctioning the dildo to, I would have an easier time riding it.
During my testing, I was unable to test the dildo in a strap-on harness in-use. I also do not have any experience to share on anal use, as the size medium is too small for my wife and too big and textured for me. As always, if this ever changes, I’ll do my best to update this review with that information.

My Final Thoughts on Bunny Works Velphar the Kobold
As a newcomer to the indie fantasy sex toy market, Bunny Works has started strongly. Velphar the Kobold is a pleasurably fun design and the quality of, not just this dildo but also the other two that I also selected, is good. The customization process is fun, though I do recommend spending time with it since I overlooked some parts my first time around. Velphar’s head is intense, but giving your body time and some water-based lube may help make the dildo as pleasurable for you as it is for me.
At a size medium, Velphar isn’t a replacement for a knot dildo for me, but it could be for someone else! The head is intense, so keep that in mind when selecting a firmness option for yourself. Softer silicones tend to be better for those who are texture sensitive and firmer silicones are for those who want to feel every detail of texture.
