Inspired by the Death tarot card, Darque Path’s Death dildo is ready to give you la petite mort. With a unique shape, the Death dildo is a lower texture, high intensity shape that is unlike any other I’ve tried. Darque Path says it’s “designed for those who crave bold sensations” and want to “embrace the darker side of desire,” and I couldn’t agree more. There’s so much to say about this fantasy dildo, and only a tiny part of it involves me making morbid death jokes.

Goths, horror fans, witchy babes and lovers of fantasy dildos, get ready. You’re going to love Death! First, let me introduce you to the Australian indie toy company.

Meet Darque Path

After struggling to find body safe sex toy options in Australia, Darque Path was created by Manda and Troy in hopes of creating better options for other people like them. Manda’s background as a Sexologist and Kink Educator and Troy’s experience in shibari and wax play, the partners spent 9 months researching, planning, and designing before launching the indie toy company we now know as Darque Path. Using only body safe ingredients, Darque Path doesn’t just make silicone products! They also make wax play body candles and acrylic paddles and blades.

Darque Path’s niche within the indie fantasy toy maker realm falls under “Horror,” though you’ll find models inspired by the 7 Deadly Sins, Greek mythology, tarot cards, and more. They’ve also worked with Paranormal Romance (PNR) authors, including TC Kraven, Regine Abel, and Opal Reyne, to name just a few. Many of their designs are heavily textured with unique shapes, some of which are discreet enough to store in “public” areas of a home, like a living room bookcase. If heavily textured isn’t your thing, don’t worry, because they have a number of models with lower intensity textures.

Though their model Arachnie won Best Horror Toy at the 2023 Bazowie Awards, the first model that comes to mind when I think of Darque Path is their iconic Hallows Cauldron. Over the years I’ve seen some incredible and unique pours on Hallows Cauldron and Manda’s realistic marble/granite pours, but even those pale in comparison to the intricate hand painting on models like the Hades and Persephone grinders and insertables. It’s clear how much Manda and Troy care for their craft!

In talking with Manda, one of the things that really stood out to me is her dedication to Darque Path’s motto, “Made for anybody with any body.” Many of their designs are multi-use designs, such as Poseidon, which can be used as a dildo or as a grinder. They also try to design toys with disabilities in mind so that anybody can use their products.

Customers have two options when buying from Darque Path: you can order a custom made dildo or wait for one of their monthly inventory drops, which happen about once a month. Insertable toys sell quickly during their inventory drops, so I recommend setting a reminder or adding it to your phone’s calendar. They announce their drops on Bluesky, Twitter and Instagram. For custom, or made to order (MTO), dildos, Darque Path is also happy to try to custom match Hex Codes to get the specific colors you want, though there are also specialty color add-ons such as Hypershift, Gemstone, ThermoChromic and Triple Chrome.

For my American readers, you’re in luck: Darque Path has announced that they are covering the costs of tariffs for US buyers!

Everything You Need to Know About Death [Dildo]

With a head design similar to that of a human bone, Darque Path’s Death Dildo is a very shapely dildo. The bulbous, bone-like head leads down to a sort of triangular shaped shaft that swells down before a semi-knot at the base. On the front of the knot is a humanoid skull, minus the jaw. The triangular shaft isn’t just triangular, though, as the back of the dildo is narrow while the front of the dildo is wider, similar-ish to a “T” in shape. It’s a really unique design overall!

Despite the bold design of Death, the fantasy dildo does not have any real texture to it. All of the surfaces are smooth, there are no repeating bumps, ridges, or any other texture-adding elements.

Made with platinum cure silicone, Death’s customization options include 3 firmnesses, up to 5 colors, 6 pour styles, and the option for with or without a vac-u-lock port. Customers can add the color info and design elements they’d like during the ordering process or email Darque Path separately to include any reference photos or design mock-ups.

Death is available in one size. I got a medium 00-50, which has a good amount of squish while still being firm enough to deliver pressure for optimal g-spot stimulation. The dimensions of Death are:

  • Total length: 8.3″ / 21cm
  • Usable length: 7.3″ / 18.5cm
  • Maximum circumference: 6.8″ / 17.5cm
  • Tip circumference: 5.9″ / 15cm
  • O-Ring size: 2.5″ / 6.35cm

How to Care For Darque Path’s Death Dildo

I can’t stress enough how important it is to clean your sex toys properly! You should always make sure to thoroughly clean your toy after each and every use, and I’d highly recommend at least rinsing, if not washing, your silicone toys before each use too. Silicone tends to have a tacky/sticky surface, which means dust, hair, lint, dirt, pollen, and whatever else is likely on the surface of your toy. All you need is warm water and an unscented, antibacterial soap. Dawn dish soap is fine! You don’t even need a specialty toy cleaner.

If you need to do a deeper clean, you have options! Each of these options I’m about to list not just deliver a deep clean, but they actually thoroughly sanitize platinum cure silicone. Silicone, glass, and stainless steel are the only materials sex toys are made out of that can be thoroughly sanitized because they are non-porous. Here are your sanitization options:

  • soak in a 10% bleach/90% water mixture for up to 10 minutes, then rinse
  • boil in water for 10 minutes, using a silicone utensil to stir and make sure it does not rest against the sides or base of the pot
  • run it through the dishwasher on a sanitize setting and skip the detergent
  • bake it in the oven at 350F/180C on a flat baking sheet lined with parchment paper for 10 minutes

Silicone is a durable material, however it does not stretch the same way TPE does. Do not stretch your dildos! You may cause tears or rips. You should also avoid biting, scratching, or cutting your sex toys, as these can leave dents in the silicone. Avoid storing your toys on or against abrasive surfaces, such as wire racks, unfinished wood, etc. It is perfectly safe to have platinum cure silicone toys touching other toys made from the same material. However, if you’re not 100% sure that another toy is made with platinum cure silicone, store the two toys separately!

Death Bed Confessional

Darque Path’s Death dildo is such a crazy unique shape that I don’t have anything remotely close to it in my collection. The bulbous head provides ample g-spot and prostate stimulation, but anal users should be very careful with this dildo. Cassie specifically asked me to make sure I include that this dildo is not really anal safe, particularly for people who can do large insertions. The swell at the bottom of the shaft is more knot-like in shape than a flared base would need to be for safe, solo anal penetration.

That said, I did use Death on Cassie. The design intrigued her just as much as it intrigued me, and she trusts that I will take care so as to not push a dildo all the way into her ass. I only lubed part of the dildo with one hand then gripped around the knot with the other non-lubed hand to keep it from sliding in. Cassie could take the knot, so we tried to be very careful when using the dildo on her.

The large head shape hitting her prostate was enough to send her spiraling into the depths of pleasure, both from thrusting it in and of of her, and from rocking it up and down. She was too worried about accidentally taking the entire dildo to use it anally on her own, but it was clear to me that she enjoyed both the size and firmness thoroughly.

Using Death on myself was also wildly pleasurable. The head of the dildo hitting my g-spot resulted in toe curling orgasms, both with and without a vibrator on my clitoris. I tend to prefer both a dildo and vibrator simultaneously, but every once in a while, a dildo like Death reminds me that I’m one of the lucky ones who can orgasm from penetration alone… even during solo play.

I felt thoroughly stretched out after using Death, and I loved it. The medium firmness had enough squish that stretching felt comfortable but firm. If I was already aroused, I could slowly insert Death without a penetrative warm up, but I really preferred to open myself a bit more prior to inserting it. The warm up with a smaller dildo really added to my comfort when stretching with Death, even if the dildo was less than half the size. This dildo was not one that I could just insert and hope for further arousal from there, as it’s just that girthy.

For me to achieve orgasm without any external stimulation, I did need to thrust Death into myself. With my big belly and short arms combo, I needed to round my back and hunch my shoulders forward a bit. However, since I was primarily focused on g-spot stimulation with Death, I also didn’t need to use the full shaft for thrust. The extra length did give me a bit more wiggle room to find a comfortable position on my back. Usually propping my shoulders up was enough.

Because I wasn’t using the full length of Death when thrusting it into myself, I was able to comfortably hold the silicone dildo by the base with my fingers around the knot and skull. The base fit comfortably in the palm of my hand, but it’s not wide enough to properly grip just the base, even with my small hands.

My best solo orgasms came from cock warming Death. After inserting it to a depth that felt good, I used my legs to help hold the dildo in place. I would then use a bullet vibrator externally on my clitoris while rocking my hips up and down. The combination of stimulation had me writhing.

When Cassie used the large dildo on me, I enjoyed her rocking it up and down against my g-spot or short thrusts until I was comfortable enough for faster and deeper thrusts. She found it easiest to grip around the knot while also going down on me. Again, the dual stimulation paired together in an explosive way for me.

Not at all related to the use of the fantasy dildo, but I really love the pour that Darque Path made for me. With a shimmery black and light blue swirly layer base, there is a drizzle or splatter of white that was poured into the mold first, making it stand out dramatically from the other two colors. It’s the only splatter pour in my collection and it’s such a lovely color combo. I love the way it looks!

I did test my size medium double sided suction cup from LustArts on the dildo’s base. I’m happy to report that it held pretty well, specifically if attached before getting lube fingers. The weight of Death did make it sag when attached to an ergonomic handle, but that is pretty standard when using a double sided suction cup. I somehow missed seeing the option for a vac-u-lock attachment hole, which I think would be a more sturdy experience especially with when used with a handle.

I also did try some shower wall “riding” with Death and the double sided suction cup. I wish I could say that it went better than it did, but I struggled a lot to get the positioning right. I could get it suctioned to the wall, but then insertion was a challenge. I’d insert it, but then suctioning it to the wall became the challenge. It was frustrating! Eventually, I was successful, but it was enough of a challenge that I didn’t try again.

Though Death is o-ring strap-on harness compatible, Cassie and I did not use it in a harness in any capacity. If that changes, I’ll make sure to update this review accordingly.

My Epitaph on Darque Path Death Dildo

Morbid jokes aside, Darque Path’s Death dildo is an exciting and bold design. The lack of texture was really comfortable for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed the g-spot stimulation from the big head. I again read the size chart and looked at the photos, and even still was surprised by the size upon arrival. My concept of size is skewed, I guess. Death is on the thicker end of my comfortable max circumference limits, and it’s a really interesting feeling stretch (positive).

Because of the size of Death, I would recommend the dildo for people who can handle similar sizes. It’s perfect for someone who wants bulbous g-spot stimulation with a good stretch without texture.

I’m not an affiliate of Darque Path! Don’t let that stop you from shopping, though. They have really cool designs, and I really had a hard time choosing which model to get for our collaboration. Some of the other models I’m interested in from them are Pride, Persephone Grinder, Cthulhu, The Elements, Heathen, Nepenthes and Witch Glass.
