Womanizer PREMIUM Eco Vibrator Review

The rise of eco friendly vibrators is here, and I am here for it. Womanizer’s PREMIUM eco is a unique toy in that it’s the very first air pulsation, or suction, vibrator made from renewable, sustainable materials.

I’ll admit: I was skeptical at first. A few years ago, I tried a vibrator from Blush’s Gaia line, and it just missed the mark for me.

But the idea fascinated me. Eco friendly vibrators, made with recyclable, renewable materials, packaged with eco friendly materials. That’s the kind of future I want to see for not just the pleasure product industry, but also the skincare & beauty industries.

Let’s Talk About the Womanizer Premium Eco

Made with a bio-based material, Biolene, the Womanizer Premium Eco is an air pulse, or suction, vibrator. It has 12 intensity levels and comes in a beautiful pink color. Womanizer boasts that this vibrator has Smart Silence Technology, completely silent when the vibe is not against your body, and making a bit of noise when it’s against you and “activated.”

Not only is the vibrator partially recyclable, but so is the packaging! There is no plastic in the packaging, just cardboard and other recyclable materials. Even the charging cord is made with less materials to be eco friendly. The storage bag included? Made with 100% cotton. Womanizer really did say “we got you” when it comes to this eco friendly, high quality vibrator.

Premium Eco is a rechargeable and splashproof vibrator. It is not safe to use this vibrator in the bath. According to Womanizer, the battery life of this vibrator is good for up to 300 charges. Once the rechargeable battery dies, it can be easily replaced.

Aside from the charging cord and storage bag, it also includes an extra stimulator head and a tool for opening the vibrator for battery changes. The extra stimulator head gives you the option to find the right stimulator head for your anatomy. Buyers get  small and medium heads, and an additional third size, large, can be purchased from Womanizer’s website.

Pros:

  • Eco-friendly-ish
  • 12 intensities for a wide range of preferences
  • Storage bag included
  • Comfortable to hold
  • 5 year warranty

Cons:

  • One color may not appeal to everyone
  • Not waterproof submersible
  • Not fully recyclable nor compostable from home

Ok But What is Biolene?

At face value, Womanizer tells us that Biolene is a renewable, bio-based material made with raw materials. It’s an eco friendly alternative to plastic.

I had to do a little digging to find more info, because that just wasn’t quite enough for me. According to Julia Heyne on O*Diaries, Biolene is a bio-based, biodegradable, and industrially compostable material that consists mainly of polylactic acid (PLA). It is derived from biomass.

Biolene is not known as a material that can cause allergies, and it’s skin friendly.

There is something important to note here, because “industrially compostable” doesn’t mean just anyone can throw this into their compost pile. It means you have to take it to an industrial composting plant. There are also ABS plastic, metal and silicone pieces to the Premium Eco. Only the metal pieces can be recycled at home, though. Silicone isn’t widely accepted for curbside recycling, most recycling plants will reject ABS plastic pieces smaller than a certain size, and Biolene still has to be composted at an industrial composting plant.

All that being said, this is still one of the most eco friendly vibrators on the market, period. Even if you just throw away the Biolene, it’s still a raw material that isn’t going to have the same environmental impact that regular plastic has.

Care Instructions for Womanizer Premium Eco

As I mentioned above, the Womanizer Premium Eco is only splashproof, not fully waterproof. They recommend removing the attachment head to clean under running water and with gentle, unscented soap or a toy cleaner, then rinsing. For the vibe itself, clean with a damp cloth, spray some toy cleaner on it, then dry it off.

Only use water-based lubricants with the Womanizer Premium Eco.

Charging port on Womanizer PREMIUM Eco

Charging the Womanizer Premium Eco is really easy! It comes with a magnetic charging cord that you plug into a USB port. While charging, the LED light will flash. Once it’s fully charged, the LED light will constantly stay on. Charge time is about 2 hours. Each charge should last approximately 240 minutes, which is pretty impressive IMO.

After about 300 charges, you’ll need to replace the battery. Use the small pink key to open the vibrator and replace the battery with another rechargeable battery. Only use a 14500 cylindrical 3.7 V lithium-ion rechargeable battery, do not use a rechargeable AA battery, which could damage the vibrator.

How to Use the Womanizer Premium Eco

Once you’ve fully charged the Womanizer Premium Eco, press and hold the + button for 2 seconds to turn on, or the – button for 2 seconds to turn off. Smart Silence will not activate the Pleasure Air “suction” unless it is within close contact to your skin.

Smart Silence is automatically turned on, but you do have the option to turn it off. To turn off Smart Silence, press and hold both the + and – buttons at the same time for 2 seconds. Whenever you change the attachment head, you’ll need to recalibrate Smart Silence.

I recommend using a small amount of lube on the head before using the Womanizer Premium Eco on your nipples or clit.

There’s A Lot to Like About Womanizer Premium Eco

Some of my favorite things about the Womanizer Premium Eco are the Smart Silence, the Pleasure Air pulsation, the design that is really comfortable to hold, and the step towards better eco-friendly pleasure products.

I really, really enjoyed using this vibrator. It’s my first Womanizer product, and I have to say that I’m impressed overall.

I do wish for some changes, though. A fully recyclable at home vibrator would be incredible, because as is, you have to jump through a few hoops to fully recycle the Womanizer Premium Eco. I also wish it was waterproof submersible. I also didn’t like the auto-shut off “feature”. And I wish Biolene was a bit more durable. I accidentally scratched mine using the key to check the inside of the device, out of curiosity.

My Experience

As I mentioned, this was my first Womanizer device, and I really like it. It was so comfortable to hold during use! Even with my grip issues and short arms/big belly combination, holding the Womanizer Premium Eco was easy and cozy. Switching between power levels was easy too.

I was so glad that the 12 intensities are just intensities, rather than patterns or modes. The range of power is so nice! I’m not much of a pattern person, but people who do like patterns might be disappointed.

I’ve tried other air pulse toys: Svakom’s Galaxie Air, Unihorn Bean Blossom, Viben Symphony, multiple Satisfyers, Tracy’s Dog…. the list could go on. Womanizer Premium Eco blew them all out of the water in terms of the pleasure I experienced. I swooned.

When I masturbate, I like to edge myself a bit, taking my time to truly enjoy the pleasure as it builds up inside of me. The number of intensities on this was fantastic for this, although I do wish the auto-shut off “feature” wasn’t quite so picky. Shutting off after 10 minutes if you don’t change the intensity is a little frustrating, but thankfully the power buttons are easy to hit.

The motor is oh so good and I couldn’t get enough of it. But despite having Smart Silence, it does make noise when it’s against your body. It’s not terribly loud, but it is loud enough that I wouldn’t use it next to a sleeping partner.

Overall

I love the Womanizer Premium Eco. It was so fun to use, lightweight, comfortable to hold and very, very pleasurable. The wide range of intensities was perfect for me. I am disappointed about a few of the features and how the Biolene lacks durability of other materials, but overall, I’m sold. This brought waves of pleasure that this device brought me really outweighed my disappointment.

At the full price of $139, I do think it’s a bit overpriced given the durability of the Biolene. But it’s often on sale for $99 on Amazon, and I think that’s a much more reasonable price for the Womanizer Eco Pro.
