I am forever a sucker for bunny ear vibrators. It started with the JimmyJane Form 2 and has never quite stopped. When my Form 2 started reaching the end of its life, I went on a mission trying to find a suitable replacement, which is how I landed on Le Wand Double Vibe.
Upon receiving this beautiful little vibrator from Le Wand, I made it my mission to thoroughly test it out and see if maybe, juuuuuust maybe, it could act as a worthy replacement.
The Basics of Le Wand Double Vibe
Le Wand Double Vibe is like the top half of a rabbit vibrator – it’s just the ears! It’s a palm-sized, rechargeable vibrator with motors in each of the ears that run simultaneously. There are 6 vibration levels and 15 vibration patterns. The vibrator also features a travel lock.
The top of Le Wand Double Vibe is made with smooth, body-safe silicone, while the bottom is body-safe metal. It comes with a ripple cover, which gives the ears a texture. The front of the vibrator has 3 buttons: +, O, and -. The charging port is on the bottom with a silicone dust/water cover.
Customers can choose between black, rose gold, dark cherry and white gold. I got the rose gold, but the black looks so sleek. It was a tough choice!!
This vibrator can be used solo or with a partner. The ears are designed to fit comfortably on either side of the clitoris, above & below, or on either side of nipples. It is not designed for internal pleasure, so don’t try to insert this in any of your holes. The silicone ears are soft enough that you can pinch them together.
Included in the stylish box are a charging cord, ripple cover, and a suede storage pouch.
Double Vibe is a water resistant vibrator with a IPX7 rating, meaning it can be submerged in 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.
Care Instructions for Le Wand Double Vibe
To charge the Le Wand Double Vibe, plug the included power cord into the base of the vibrator. The LED light on the O button will slowly pulse when charging. Once fully charge, the LED will turn solid. If, when you power on your vibrator, the LED is flashing, this indicates that the battery is low and needs recharging. Charging time is about 2 hours.
Make sure to clean your vibrator before and after usage. Close the seal on the charging port is closed before washing. Le Wand recommends a mild cleanser that is suitable for silicone items. I like System JO’s toy cleaner! Wash with warm water and make sure to fully dry off before storing.
It is recommended to use water-based lube with Le Wand’s products.
How to Use Le Wand Double Vibe
- Power on by pressing & holding the + button
- Use the O button to change pattern
- Use the +/- buttons to change intensity
- Long press the – button to turn off
To turn the travel lock, make sure the vibrator is powered off first. Press & hold both the + and – buttons together for 5 seconds. LED will flash twice to indicate the vibrator is locked. Repeat to unlock. The vibrator will also automatically unlock while charging.
JimmyJane Form 2 vs Le Wand Double Vibe
JimmyJane Form 2 is 3″ long, 1.8″ wide, with 1.3″ ears. Le Wand Double Vibe is 3.3″ long, 2.1″ wide, and 1.2″ ears. Le Wand Double Vibe weights more at 4.86oz vs ~1oz for the JimmyJane Form 2. It’s a noticeable weight difference when holding them.
Specifications aside, the ears on both are quite flexible. Both have three buttons to control. Both are IPX7 waterproof. Both have travel locks. Both have dual motors. Le Wand Double Vibe has more vibration patterns, with 6 vibration levels and 15 vibration functions, while JimmyJane Form 2 has 5 vibration levels and 5 vibration modes. Run time on Double Vibe is about 1.5 hours, and Form 2 is over 1 hour. Charging takes 90 minutes for Form 2 and 2 hours for Double Vibe. The Form 2 only comes in Pink or Blue, while Double Vibe has 4 color options.
Even the noise levels are pretty similar. Both are decently quiet, though I wouldn’t say that blankets block the sound enough to use either of these in bed next to a light sleeper. You could easily use either one with the door closed and not worry too much about anyone in the next room hearing you.
My Form 2 is old enough that it has the plug-in charging station, though the new version of the Form 2 has a magnetic charging port on the side. Double Vibe has a plug-in port on the bottom.
On paper, Jimmy Jane Form 2 and Le Wand Double Vibe are pretty similar, aside from weight. Pricing on them is even similar, with Form 2 coming in at $130 vs Double Wand coming in at $135. But the two weren’t the same when it came down to my pleasure, something I did not expect given the similarities in design.
When I’d lay down to rub one out, the Form 2 had me achieving orgasm in a matter of minutes. Double Vibe took a long time to achieve orgasm. I’ve been trying to figure out why that is, and I think part of it comes down to the weight. Form 2 is light weight in comparison and I was able to hold it in place between my thighs without it moving away from where I wanted it. Double Vibe required me to hold it in my hand to keep it in place, as the weight of it made it want to shift out place often. Both are powerful vibrators. Both have the signature bunny ears that I enjoy so much. Both have dual motors.
Aside from weight, I can’t wrap my head around why I have such drastically different experiences with these vibrators. But I do. I can see why people prefer Double Vibe over Form 2, the weight does make it nice to hold, and you’re more likely to catch a sale on Double Vibe since JimmyJane rarely gives customers more than a 20% a discount on Form 2.
My Experiences with Le Wand Double Vibe
Now, I know I just said that it took me a while to achieve orgasm with the Le Wand Double Vibe, but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the time we have together. It just means I can’t have a quickie masturbation sesh. It means I need to make sure I’ve got at least half an hour to devote to solo pleasure.
I’ve used Form 2 during sex and realized that I’d prefer a bullet vibe or a wand instead of the bunny ears, so I didn’t ever try using the Double Vibe during partnered play. I did try it with a dildo though, as I prefer that type of vibrator with less in & out movement on the penetration side. So I slid a dildo in and went to town with Double Vibe. Even with the dildo, it still took me a while to achieve orgasm, but it was a lot of fun getting there.
The ribbed cover for the Double Vibe is a nice touch, and I’ve seen some reviews talking about how much they love the ribbed cover. For me, it didn’t really make a big difference in a good or bad way. It was just different!
Final Thoughts
Le Wand Double Vibe is a beautiful vibrator. It’s got power, it’s waterproof & rechargeable. It’s a good vibrator. I love the Rose Gold that I got, though I keep thinking that I should have chosen the Black. I see Double Vibe on sale both on Le Wand’s site and Peepshow Toys pretty regularly, so you can often get a really great deal on it.
If I were given the Le Wand Double Vibe as a gift, I’d be thrilled. It has a luxury to it that JimmyJane Form 2 lacks, though the price tags are just a few dollars off. I think it’s the shine of the metal of the Double Vibe and the weight of it that each contribute to how luxurious feeling Double Vibe is.
