Echo by Fera Daemon Fantasy Dildo Review   New!

One day, I was scrolling along on BlueSky when I came across a post that had a photo of a dildo and the extras they had selected. The photo also showed a map and a tin canister, all very clearly from the same company. It was one of the most beautiful works of art I’d ever seen from a fantasy toy company. But the person posting the photo didn’t mention the company name and I didn’t recognize the logo.

“Who made this gorgeous work of art and how do I get one?”, I asked my wife, hoping she would recognize the logo.

Days later, the poster responded to my comment asking who made the dildo: Fera Daemon.

Meet Fera Daemon

You know I love indie toy companies The Most, and maybe that’s what drove me to Fera Daemon. Or maybe it’s the fact that they have some incredible pieces of art that have world building lore to them. A friend of mine commented “I’d love to play D&D with these folks”, clearly as enthralled as I am.

Fera Daemon is a two person team, based in France. They’re super queer friendly and hand make every single piece to order using body-safe silicone. Their site is full of information about the brand’s origins & how they make their products, and beautiful artistic photos of their products. Seriously, the photos are so aesthetically pleasing to look at that I find myself staring at them longer than usual.

Currently, they have 8 different toy, or “daemon”, designs: 2 floral dildos, 1 floral plug, 2 tentacle dildos, 2 unicorn horns, and a crystal. Their shop is organized by coloration option, though you can filter to specific models or colors. Their site does read “Custom Dildos”, however you are limited to their colorations. But don’t worry, they have a very wide range of gorgeous colorations to choose from. What you are customizing is which shape, size, firmness, base, and extras you’d like, the extras being an illustration and storage case.

Speaking of firmness!! This is important to note if you’re used to ordering from indie fantasy toy makers! Fera Daemon uses different shore rated silicone for their toys than many other companies do. Soft is a Shore A-1, which is a bit more firm than a gel shoe insole. Medium is a Shore A-8, which is about as firm as a rubber band. Firm is a Shore A-18, which is on the firmer end of a rubber band. This is significantly firmer than what most indie toy brands call their firmness options. You can learn more about the Shore Hardness Scale here.

As my wife would say, “Now show dick!”

Meet Echo

Echo is the crystal shape dildo by Fera Daemon that caught my attention first. A cluster of crystals poking out in different directions surrounds the base as one large crystal grows straight up. It’s such a discreet dildo that you could put this on an alter, bookshelf, wherever and it would just look like a stunning piece of decor. This is a very non-phallic dildo with edges that only look sharp. The texture is quite angular, though overall still quite close to being round. Midway up the shaft is a slight bulge, great for giving users a feeling of fullness.

Available in 5 sizes, Sizes 1-5, 1 being the smallest, 5 being the largest. I got Size 3, which has a 13cm insertable length, 20 cm total length, with a max circumference of 14.7cm. Their size chart is unfortunately quite small and not clickable, and they don’t have size reference photos to help out. So, you may want to get a tape measure out to help better visualize the size in centimeters.

You also get to choose between the 3 different firmness levels I mentioned earlier. In talking to Romain, one of the owners of Fera Daemon, he recommended their soft firmness because “some people do like the Echo Size 3 Medium, but it’s not that common…” Thanks to his words of caution, I opted to go with soft instead, and I am very glad that I did. It’s got squish, but it’s firmer than I’m used to a soft toy feeling.

You can then choose between Illustration options (none, Echo Illustration, or Fera Map) and Case (Fera Daemon pouch or Fera Daemon case). The Echo Illustration provides lore about the daemon, and the Fera Map is pretty self explanatory (it’s the map of Fera). The pouch and the case do match, both are black with drawn art of the Fera world, showing the inspirations behind each of the daemons. I cannot stress enough just how gorgeous these drawings are on both the Illustrations and Cases. Note that each of the different dildo types has a unique Illustration offering.

Care Instructions for Fera Daemon Toys

It’s really easy to clean silicone dildos! Rub them with warm water and a non-silicone based soap. Since these are non-motorized toys, you can also boil them for 10 minutes for a deeper cleaning, or soak in a 1 part bleach bath. Remember: Do not boil bleach! Echo by Fera Daemon does have a bit of a tricky base to clean, so make sure to get between the crystals with a soft brush or your finger.

Fera Daemon recommends only using water-based lubricants with their daemons. They warn that while you can use oil-based lubricants with their silicone dildos, it will make the surface harder to clean as they stick to the silicone.

It is safe to store your daemon with other platinum cured silicone dildos. However, you should keep them away from abrasive, sharp and/or piercing objects.

Experiencing Echo by Fera Daemon

I was very excited to test Echo, because I have another angular toy, the Splendid Dildo by Uberrime, however that one has a rounded head and it’s just the shaft that is angular. Knowing that I enjoy the Splendid Dildo, I felt quite confident I’d enjoy Echo by Fera Daemon. And I absolutely do. My favorite part of the daemon is the slight bulge mid-shaft. I am a sucker for toys with that mid-shaft bulge. It’s not dramatic, but damn does it feel good!

I opted to get the suction cup bottom on mine, so I can suction it to any smooth surface and take it for a ride. The base is thick enough, even with the suction cup, that it was still quite comfortable to use hand pumping both into myself and into my wife. Though you could get an o-ring harness onto the base of the Echo, you’d end up with ~2in of base between you and that o-ring, which I personally don’t find very comfortable.

Speaking of comfort, you may be wondering how comfortable the base is given that it has crystals that do point upwards around the insertable length. The silicone is soft enough that these did not poke or irritate me, but they do rub against my anatomy when using the dildo to the base. Positioned correctly, I found them rubbing against me in a really pleasurable way!

Pros:

  • Unique, non-phallic, super discreet design
  • Fara Daemon’s soft silicone is firm enough that it doesn’t attract lint quite as easily as softer silicones
  • Customizable size, firmness, and base
  • Made by a queer owned small business
  • Storage pouch or case included
  • Mid-shaft bulge is so nice

Cons:

  • No super soft, super squishy options available
  • Angular shape is not for everyone
  • Base is hard to clean between crystals

Final Thoughts on Echo by Fera Daemon

I think it’s pretty clear that I really like not only the Echo design, but also Fera Daemon as a company. My inner marketer loves how beautifully on brand everything is, from their website to the cases to their toys. I think they have a very unique branding in the indie toy maker niche that’s hard not to swoon over.

I do wish that the Fera Daemon website had size reference pictures, as I’m one of those people who doesn’t really understand size without a visual reference. But that’s really my biggest gripe. They make beautiful pieces, they have beautiful imagery, they have beautiful storage options included with each toy.

Echo may not be the toy for everyone, as angular toys may not be a pleasant sensation for all. I really enjoyed the texture the angular design brings, though. It’s unique and done in a way that still feels quite pleasurable. For me, Size 3 was perfect for vaginal use, though my size queen trans wife had hoped I would select a Size 5 instead.

While I don’t have a coupon code nor an affiliate link for Fera Daemon, I do hope you’ll support this company by buying their toys. They’ve created something truly special and it shows in every way. When you order from Fera Daemon, you’ll get the toy you’ve selected, along with an optional Illustration and your choice of storage case, plus stickers and a wax sealed envelope containing care instructions. They offer discreet worldwide shipping, and all of their toys are made to order.

If you’re on a budget, Fera Daemon does offer a 15% discount on their “Monthly Monochrome” coloration. In February, as I’m writing this, the Monthly Monochrome coloration is Wild Raspberry. Monthly Monochrome colors are usually announced on their social media pages, such as BlueSky.

Please note that Echo was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own, as authenticity is one of my pillars as a reviewer and as a performer. You can read more about my reviews here
