Every once in a while, I find myself absolutely fascinated by mini vibrators. I know I may normally be a bit of size royalty, but sometimes even the lil guys need love too! Which is why I wanted to review the BMS Mini Swan Wand Vibrator. It’s cute & compact & vibrantly colored, all wrapped around BMS’s signature PowerBullet motor.
The Small But Mighty Mini Swan Wand
Coming in at 4.75″ in total length with a 1.1″ diameter, the BMS Mini Swan Wand is a curved pocket size vibrator with more shape than a bullet vibe, but still packed with BMS’s PowerBullet motor. If you’re unfamiliar with PowerBullet, it’s what powers my favorite bullet vibe, the BMS Swan Maximum Bullet.
PowerBullet isn’t the only feature of this cute little vibe, though! It also has a bulbous g-spot stimulator, incremental speed control, a travel lock, a storage bag, a 1-year warranty, is waterproof and is rechargeable! That’s a lot to pack into such a little vibrator. It’s available in glow-in-the-dark blue or purple, or a non-gitd pink.
Pros:
- Incremental “press & hold” speed control
- Rumbly vibrations with no patterns
- Travel lock
- Body-safe silicone has virtually no drag
- Compact size makes it very travel friendly or even, purse friendly
- Beginner friendly size
- Quiet
- Lightweight
Cons:
- Technically designed for clitoral or g-spot stimulation, but button is too close to the bulbous g-spot end, making you have to pull it out to change speeds
- Provides somewhat pinpointed stimulation, which isn’t for everyone
Care Instructions
Once you get your BMS Mini Swan Wand vibrator, you’ll want to give it a full charge. It should arrive with a partial charge, but trust me when I say you want to give a full charge first. One, because the manual said so, but also, two, because you don’t want the battery to die while you’re getting down to business! Inside the box, you’ll find a satin storage bag with the charging cord inside. Plug the USB cord to a wall adaptor and the DC pin into the tip of the device, opposite end of the bulbous g-spot stimulator. It’s a tiny hole, so look closely!
It should take around 2 hours for the vibrator to be fully charged. The button will light up while charging, then go dark once charging is complete. Each charge should last about 2 hours.
Use water-based lubricant with the BMS Mini Swan Wand vibe. To wash the device, use an unscented, non-silicone based soap and wash with warm water. Do not use alcohol to clean the vibrator. Make sure to let it dry completely before charging and/or storing!
How to Use BMS Mini Swan Wand Vibrator
This vibrator will arrive with the travel lock turned on. To lock or unlock the travel lock, quickly press the button three times. Alternatively, if you plug the vibrator in to charge, this will also unlock the travel lock.
If you’ve never used a “press and hold” incremental speed control vibrator before, it may take some getting used to. Press the button once quickly to turn the BMS Mini Swan Wand vibrator on, then press & hold the button to raise the speed, letting go once you’ve found your desired speed. To further increase the speed, press & hold again. Quickly press the button again to turn the vibrator off.
Use the bulbous end to massage your clitoris or insert it vaginally to stimulate the g-spot. Please note that this is not an anal safe vibrator!!
When I Tried the BMS Mini Swan Wand
I wasn’t sure that I would love this vibrator. It’s small, it’s not really that special looking… idk, it just didn’t call to me the way some sex toys do. But, I’m pleased to share that it is indeed a good vibrator. I really like the comfortable hold of the BMS Mini Swan Wand. It’s not too thick, not too thin, and not too heavy, quite perfect for me even with my grip issues!
I really like “Press & Hold” speed control with vibrators, so for me, this was awesome. I would take “Press & Hold” or incremental speed control of almost any variety, over vibration patterns & rhythms & modes & functions. It’s pretty rare for me to enjoy those, as I tend to be a “steady as she goes” type person, so having a wider range of speeds is ideal.
But I was shocked to find that the BMS Mini Swan Wand didn’t feel quite as powerful as the BMS Maximum Swan Bullet. I guess I was expecting it to be 1:1 with intensities, but the vibrations didn’t seem quite as powerful to me. My theories for this are that the vibrations are a bit more spread out over the bulbous head of the Mini Swan Wand, or the slanted tip of the Maximum Swan Bullet just gives me a more preferred angle and contact point. Either way, this didn’t feel as intense, even when I press & held until I reached the highest vibration speed.
Since the BMS Mini Swan Wand vibrator was designed for either clitoral or g-spot stimulation, I, of course, tried both! As a g-spot vibrator, this doesn’t shine a light to my favorite g-spot vibe of all time (the BMS Pillow Talk Sassy). The bulbous head is nice and is quite smaller than the Pillow Talk Sassy, but I preferred the strength, size and curve of the Pillow Talk Sassy. I think this size vibrator is perfect for someone who is fairly inexperienced with penetration and/or g-spot stimulation.
The other downside of the size is the button placement. When using the Mini Swan Wand for g-spot stimulation, the button ends up inside of you. To increase speed, you have to pull it out and then re-insert, which may not be a problem for some, but that always pulls me out of the moment and I feel like I’m having to start again.
Now, this is a small vibrator, which does sort of by default give it a more pinpointed contact point than an actual wand vibrator. However, I’d argue that the shape of the BMS Mini Swan Wand is actually not that pinpointed unless you’re literally holding either point against your clitoris. I tried to do so, but it was really uncomfortable! Ultimately, I ended up having the side of the bulb against my anatomy, spreading those vibrations out across a somewhat larger contact point. This is where I really think personal preference is going to come into play: either it’s too pinpointed for you or it’s not pinpointed enough. And I don’t know if you’d know which side you fall onto unless you tried.
Concluding Thoughts on BMS Mini Swan Wand
For $60, the BMS Mini Swan Wand Vibrator is a nice option for beginners or people who prefer small toys. The silicone has virtually no drag, the size is petite and non-intimidating, while still packing good power from a trusted motor. I think it’s better used externally, unless you’re unbothered by having to pull out to increase power while using it internally.
If you want something that feels more intense, I’d recommend the BMS Swan Maximum Bullet Vibrator instead, though. Both have PowerBullet motors, both are made with body-safe materials, both are made by BMS, both have “press and hold” speed control, but the bullet vibe got me there faster on a lower speed setting.
It’s not that BMS Mini Swan Wand is a bad vibrator – it’s not! It’s a good vibrator! It’s just different. I believe the saying goes “different strokes for different folks”, and while it may not have been The Vibrator for me, I can still appreciate a high quality product when I test it.
