The first time I held one of Blush’s dildos from the Avant line, I swooned. It was the perfect silicone texture. Minimal drag and buttery smooth. I just had to get some of these beautiful dildos!! I started with Purple Rain D2, a 7 inch curved g-spot dildo with a suction cup. It’s not the only coloration they have for this particular model, but it was the one that caught my eyes fastest.
The Basics
Purple Rain D2 is part of Blush’s Avant line, a line of body-safe silicone dildos that also includes Blush’s pride collection. Purple Rain isn’t part of the pride collection, but gosh is it beautiful! The entire Avant line is full of beautifully colored silicone dildos. Blush boasts that this line is crafted with “pure platinum cured Purio™ silicone” that gives an “ultrasilk smooth” finish.
Measuring in at 7.5″ in total length and 6″ of insertable length, the curved shaft of Purple Rain D2 is designed for g-spot stimulation. There’s a circumference of 4.71″. It has a suction cup base that’s also harness compatible. The silicone has some decent squish to it, but I’d compare it to a firm 10A shore.
This particular model has 4 shades of purple in asymmetrical lines. The model itself is not unique, as there are 2 other models in the Avant line that share the same mold, just with different colorations: Sun’s Out Pink and Hot ‘n’ Cool D1. I like that Blush will use the same molds and use different colors, it gives customers options!
Pros:

Cons:
- Some people may prefer more squish
- No texture aside from g-spot ridge
- Suction cup is squishy enough to not be super stable in a harness without further support
Caring for Purple Rain D2
Since Purple Rain D2 is made with body-safe silicone, cleaning it is very easy! Grab your favorite toy cleaner or mild soap, and wash under warm water. You can also throw this one in the dishwasher or boil it in a pot.
Blush recommends using water-based lube with the Avant line. I’ve used water-based and hybrid lubes without any damage to the dildo.
My Experiences with Purple Rain D2
I’ve used Purple Rain D2 on myself, on scene partners, and had others use it on me. It’s a really nice dildo. The smoothness of the silicone and the minimal texture makes it very comfortable to use. It’s perfect for beginners or those who prefer minimal texture on their toys.
My biggest issue with this dildo is that the suction cup base which is meant to also make it harness compatible… is just too soft to stay in an o-ring harness unless there’s a back to it keeping it in place. I’ve tried it with a harness without a back and in a panty style harness with a neoprene stabilizer, and the neoprene stabilizer was really what made this work as a strap-on dildo.
That being said, the suction cup on this dildo is GOOD. It’s strong enough that I was able to lift my suction cup dildo mount in the air without it detaching, even when giving it a bit of a shake and a bounce.
Typically, I don’t have a lot of non-textured toys in my rotation of regularly used dildos, but this one is so nice that I never hesitate to reach for it when I need something a bit less stimulating. My scene partners reach for this one pretty regularly when I’m showing them potential toys that I can use with them.
Final Thoughts
This is just a dependable, good dildo. Period. It’s absolutely worth the price, and if something ever happened to mine, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one… though I might pick the Sun’s Out Pink one next time.
Of the Avant dildos that I have, this particular shape is my favorite to use. I have a few of the other dildos from the Avant line, and none of them get as much usage as Purple Rain D2. I think this is really just the superior mold in the entire line!
