Fun Sydney fact: the first bottle of lube that I ever purchased was JO. I’ve tried countless lubricant brands since then, but I always go back to JO. Simply put, JO is my favorite brand of lube.
Formulated with high quality ingredients, JO sets the standard for body safe, FDA licensed lubricants. I have a few favorite products by JO, but today I’m focusing on their H2O Fruit Flavored lubes.

Comprised of 8 different fruity flavors, JO’s H2O fruit flavored lubricants are water-based lubes with silky-smooth feeling, with no sugar added, and aren’t going to stain your sheets or clothes. The formula is designed to both lubricant and moisturize, and is safe for external & internal usage.

The H2O flavored lubricants are safe with some condoms: natural rubber latex and polyisoprene condoms. They are not compatible with polyurethane condoms, so just double check your condoms before using them with H2O flavored lubes.

Each of the flavors are available for purchase in 1 ounce or 4 ounce bottles. If you buy them from JO’s website, it’s $10.99 for the 1oz or $24.49 for the 4oz.
The sweetness of the lubricants does come from glycerin, which is a bit of a controversial ingredient when it comes to pleasure products. It is commonly used in skin care products, medicines, food and soaps. According to this article, the US FDA has certified glycerin as safe for human intake.
Pros:

- People who love fruit flavored candy are likely to enjoy these flavors
- Easy to rinse off with water
Cons:
- Gets sticky when it dries out
- Baby wipes will not get the lube off your skin effectively
- Sweet, fruity scents are very strong, which may bother some
How to Use JO H2O Flavored Lubes
Since JO’s H2O lubes are safe for internal and external usage, using the lube is very easy. Use a generous amount to lubricate your partner or sex toy. You can use a lubricant applicator to insert the lube internally for both anal and vaginal sex.
Water-based lubes do dry out faster than silicone based lubes, so make sure you reapply lube often, especially if you’re using it for anal sex.
You can use water-based lubes on silicone, glass, steel, TPE, and most other materials that sex toys are made out of. But don’t limit yourself to just using JO’s H2O fruit flavored lubes to sex! My Experiences with JO H2O Flavored Lubricants
My very first time trying the fruit flavored lubes from JO was actually on-camera with my co-star Picante Jenny. Typically I avoid flavored lubes. I love tasting my partners! But of course, I’m not one to turn down trying something new. It was fun to try all the different flavors, and we even had two additional flavors that are no longer available: banana and mint.
Since Jenny and I did the taste test, I’ve been using the fruit flavored H2O lubes on and off camera. JO’s fruit flavored lubes are very, very flavorful. I’ve tried some lubes that are kind of the La Croix of flavored lubes, but JO’s are not that. These are rich flavors that are also strongly scented. Sometimes the scents are a bit too strong for me. Not all the flavors are for me either (I’m looking at you, cherry and raspberry).
I alternate between loving the Peachy Lips, Tropical Passion, and the Cool Mint flavors the most. The great thing about different flavor options is it’s really easy for you to get a flavor you enjoy. They’re all equally rich and flavorful, though I do think they taste like the candy versions of those fruits.
Texture wise, I love the silky-smooth glide that these lubricants provide. JO’s H2O lubes do get sticky when they start to dry out, so I do reapply lube often when using. I have used this lube to stroke a strap-on for a video without getting any tackiness for 10+ minutes. The mileage goes further with skin to skin use rather than toy to skin use. When I’m topping my wife with a silicone dildo anally, I do end up having to use more lube than when she uses it with a silicone dildo on me vaginally.
One of the things that does bother me about JO’s H2O fruit flavored lubes is that the sticky does get very sticky. When I’m using it to top my partner, I’m usually also using it to stroke her as well. If I then lean in to kiss her, I’m ending up with lube all over my belly and the tackiness irks me & my AuDHD sensitivities. A wet washcloth does a far better job of getting that dried up lube off my body than a baby wipe does.
Final Thoughts
I already really liked JO’s H2O lubes, and the fruit flavored line is fantastic. Not all the flavors are for me, but flavor preferences are very personal. Just because I don’t like a flavor doesn’t mean that other people will agree with me. I appreciate the wide variety of flavors even though I definitely have preferences for a few of them.
I like the texture of the lube when it’s wet, but when it dries… I don’t love it. That’s the case with most water-based lubes I’ve tried though, so it’s not really anything outside the ordinary.
The 4oz bottle of lube is obviously a better deal than the 1oz bottles, which is nice not just because the better value, but also because the 1oz bottles are difficult to squeeze.
Overall, if you like flavored lubricants, JO’s H2O fruit flavored lubes are delicious and very flavorful. Flavored lube fans will love these, unless you’re more of a La Croix flavor kind of person.
