As someone who has used fantasy dildos for years, I really love introducing people to fantasy sex toys, but some people are really intimidated by texture and/or size. Heck, sometimes those things intimidate me too! One of my favorite indie toy brands, Uberrime, recently launched an entire line of toys, Phantasia, specifically for helping bridge the gap for beginners, and I’ve got the Equus Unicorn Horn to review today!
When I saw Uberrime’s new Phantasia Beginner-Friendly Fantasy Toys line, I was really excited to see a beginner-friendly fantasy dildo line with some familiar shapes and textures. The line currently has 6 different “entry level” fantasy dildos: alien, vampire, werewolf, unicorn, dragon and tentacle. Each of the toys was specifically designed with gentle texture & approachable sizes to help introduce people to fantasy sex toys.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I love seeing indie toy companies creating more beginner-friendly designs! I think that it really opens the door to a lot of new & curious monster fuckers. The more, the merrier!
Since I’ve talked about Uberrime a few times before, like when I raved about the Splendid dildo or how I used the Umbra dildo for an hour long custom video, I’m not going to dive deep into the brand today and instead head straight for the good stuff!
Meet the Equus Unicorn Horn Dildo
Uberrime’s Equus Unicorn Horn dildo is exactly as it sounds: a unicorn horn shaped dildo with a spiral texture that twists up the toy from base to tip. The unicorn sex toy is available in either small or large, and shoppers can select to either customize their own or buy a ready-made 00-50 firmness dildo with an ombre of pearl white and pearl pink with some gold shimmer added in. For those looking to customize their own, you can select between soft & squishy 00-30 or soft 00-50 firmness, and up to three colors of your choosing. The size Large can also have a bullet vibe hole or vac-u-lock port added.
The design has a tapered tip that allows for easy, gentle insertion. There are 8 raised spiral textures that also run from tip to base, which provide gentle ridges and grooves for stimulation. The base is flared for safe anal use and o-ring harness compatibility, and features delicate little flowers.

Caring for Silicone Toys
Uberrime carefully washes each toy prior to shipping, however it’s still best practice to wash your toys before and after each use. The good news is that they’re really easy to wash, even with the texture! Grab an unscented, antibacterial soap that is not made with silicone, and wash the toy with that & warm water. For a deeper clean, you can also soak it in a 10% bleach & water mixture for a few minutes, run it through the dishwasher on a sanitize setting without detergent, or you can boil it in water for 5-10 minutes (making sure the toy is not resting against the sides or bottom of the pot).
As far as lube compatibility, Uberrime recommends using water-based lubes or natural oils. They are very specific that their toys should not be used with silicone-based lubricants, as it can damage the toy. If you like to use “cum lube”, make sure you’re selecting a cum lube that does not have silicone in it.
My Experiences with Equus Unicorn Horn Dildo
When Uberrime reached out to me about reviewing some of the toys from the Phantasia line, I was really excited to see a unicorn horn on the list. Specifically, a unicorn horn with a pointed tip because most of the other “unicorn toys” in my collection have much more rounded tips. I wanted a silicone pointed tip because of a glass piece in my collection that has a similar pointy tip that sometimes feels too pointy at the wrong angles. I think I really needed to experience for myself the difference in pointy tips between glass & silicone!
And honestly, I’m glad that I did. The tapered, pointy tip of Equus Unicorn Horn is really easy and comfortable to insert. The biggest difference between this toy and the glass toy is that there were no wrong angles with Equus Unicorn Horn that left me feeling like I was getting an uncomfortable poke rather than a pleasurable poke. It made such a big difference in how I experienced pleasure when I tried the toys back to back and when Cassie used them on me.
The soft silicone of Equus Unicorn Horn was comfortable as hell, even at dramatic angles! One of our most frequently turned to positions is Cassie going down on me while using a dildo to fuck me, which thanks to body sizes, bed firmness, etc tends to lend itself to a very dramatic upwards angle towards my belly button. The angle is great for g-spot stimulation, even though there are not any design elements that would make this dildo good for that specifically, I still found myself having g-spot orgasms in this position with Equus.
Because the toy is considered a “beginner-friendly” fantasy dildo, I wasn’t too worried about the ridges that swirl around the shaft of the toy. They’re fairly gentle, though they are a big more pointed than the ridges of the Suga Daddy unicorn horn I reviewed a while back. In comparing the two, I prefer the Equus Unicorn Horn’s gentle texture & tapered shape over the Suga Daddy.
Normally, my preferred masturbation style when it comes to dildos is to just insert it and leave it be while using a vibrator on my clitoris. However, with the Equus Unicorn Horn, I enjoyed the texture so much that I did a lot of thrusting with it during solo play. The texture wasn’t overwhelming, even as someone who is sometimes sensitive to ridges. I think because the texture isn’t straight horizontal, it wasn’t so much that it made me feel overstimulated.
I did not try throwing strap with the Equus Unicorn Horn, but I did test out which o-ring size it needs. The smallest o-ring I own is a 1.5″ o-ring, which does fit but it is on the loose side. This is easily remedied with a strappy harness with fasteners that connect to the o-ring, or a neoprene stabilizer if you’re using a panty style harness.
The base of the Uberrime Equus Unicorn Horn was really comfortable to hold when using it on myself, though it was even easier & more comfortable to use on myself when I used the Silc Arts ergonomic handle. Because the size small does not have a vac-u-lock hole, I had to use a double-sided suction cup to connect it to the suction cup handle. This did make it a little less easy for insertion, because the double-sided suction cup acted sort of hinge-like, but once the dildo was inserted, I didn’t have any issues with thrusting it and hitting the right spots.

Final Thoughts on Uberrime Equus Unicorn Horn
As someone who is both very sensitive to and very particular with textures, I found Uberrime’s Equus Unicorn Horn a comfortable texture without ever experiencing any overwhelm or overstimulation. It does have more texture than some dildos out there, but for a fantasy dildo, the texture is very gentle and approachable. I love the colors, I love the design, I love the soft silicone.
Uberrime’s Phantasia line as a whole looks like a great option for those who are experienced with dildos & sex toys but want something less realistic or are looking to expand their realm of pleasure with a fantasy dildo. I think unicorn horn dildos are really great entry level options, though some have way too much texture for me to safely recommend to beginners, whereas the Equus Unicorn Horn is exactly that: perfect for beginners.
