I was so excited for the release of the Solina Aura and Monsta dildos that I completely overlooked reviewing two of the models that were already available: Prima and Maxima! Oops! It’s time for me to remedy part of that by finally reviewing the Solina Prima dildo.
As I returned to Prima to write this review months after receiving it, I was reminded that this unassuming, sort of basic looking dildo actually is prima (which means “great” in Dutch). Prima is the smallest of the Solina Toys models that has testicles, though its total length and girth are identical to that of the Mega Large.
Meet Solina Prima
Perhaps it’s just me, but Solina Toys has quickly become a dependable brand for ultra-realistic, dual density dildos, and Prima fits into my expectations perfectly. It’s got the same attention to hyper-realism, with skin lines, vein texture & coloration, a nice coronal ridge, and is available in 3 realistic skin tones (Vanilla, Caramel and Cocoa). The coronal ridge on Prima is not as prominent as it is on Spotta or Maxima, but it is still raised enough that it is good for g-spot or p-spot stimulation. Plus, Prima has testicles that can be used for external stimulation against a clitoris or perineum. It’s also an affordable option for those in the market for realistic, silicone dildos, at only $49.99.
Like all of the dildos by Solina Toys, it’s made with body-safe silicone, is strap-on harness compatible, has a strong suction cup, and features a soft exterior with a firm core for a realistic feel (when compared to a single density dildo). Dual density dildos are my personal favorite type of dildo, as I find the squishy exterior comfortable while the firmer inside layer helps keep the shape and give it more of that “real feel” that I enjoy.
Solina Toys markets Prima as a great “everyday go-to” dildo, and I can’t blame them. With a comfortable, approachable size, Prima has the smallest dimensions of all of the toys in Solina Toys current line-up, which makes it a great option for those who aren’t size royalty. Here are its dimensions:
- Total length: 7.5″ / 19.05cm
- Useable/insertable length: 5.5″ / 13.97cm
- Diameter: 1.5″ / 3.81cm
- O-ring size: 1.5″ / 3.81cm if used above the testicles, or 1.75″ / 4.445cm if used around the suction cup
How to Care for Solina Toys Prima Dildo
After you open the thick cardboard box that contains the Prima dildo and rip open the plastic bag containing the dildo, make sure you give your dildo a good wash before your first use. Silicone is prone to having lint, dust, hair, etc stick to it, and you don’t want any of those going inside of you! You can use a specialty toy cleaner, but it’s also not necessary to go that far. All you really need is an unscented, antibacterial soap. Give it a nice wash with warm water before and after using the dildo.
There are other ways to clean the Solina Toys dildos, though! For a deeper clean, you can boil it in water for 5-10 minutes, stirring to make sure the dildo is not resting against the sides or bottom of the pot, or you can run it through the dishwasher on a sanitize setting without detergent. The final option for a deep clean is to soak the dildo in a 1:10 bleach:water mixture for 5-10 minutes, just remember that you should never boil bleach!
Care isn’t just making sure your dildos are clean, though. It’s also making sure that you’re storing your toys properly and taking care of the material! Don’t store your silicone dildos against non-silicone toys or against heavily textured materials. As I learned a while back, too much friction can start to “erase” the details on the exterior of the dildo. I was pushing the Mega XXL to the limits while filming a series of videos, and between my feet, socks and sneakers, I accidentally rubbed off some of the realistic detailing. Oh! How can I forget! It’s also really important to use the correct type of lubrication with the Solina Toys dildos. They recommend using water-based, hybrid, and/or natural plant oil lubricants, while avoiding silicone-based lube or petroleum jelly.
My Experiences with Solina Prima Dildo
When the box of Solina Toys arrived that contained Spotta, Prima and Maxima, I’ll admit that Prima was the last one I tried. Then, after I tried it the first few times, I put Prima on a shelf with other dildos and overlooked it each time I was picking out a toy for sex or masturbation. There is nothing wrong with the dildo! I just like a bit more length and girth than what Prima has to offer.
A little birdy told me that some new Solina Toys models are coming soon, so I wanted to make sure I got this review of Prima published before a whole new wave of models comes out. So, I pulled Prima off the realistic dildo shelf in my office/guest bedroom, put it on my nightstand, and promised myself that I’d revisit Prima a few more times so that I could write this review ASAP.
Though I did not push Prima to its limits, I did end up spending a lot more time using the suction cup dildo than I thought I would. I haven’t stretched myself quite as much recently, as I was giving myself a bit of a break after damn near breaking my pussy thanks to a temporarily elevated libido. Taking a break from stretching really allowed me to fully appreciate the small-ish realistic dildo more than I did when it first arrived.
I appreciated it a lot, actually. I tried it just inserted and left alone while using a bullet vibrator on my clit, I suctioned it to the ergonomic handle for solo thrusting, I had my wife use it on me while going down on me, and I had her use it on me again in her strap-on harness. And then I did all of those things again because I started to question why I’d overlooked this particular dildo for so long.
Sometimes, I think my brain is determined to keep up with my wife’s size queen tendencies, even though we’re using dildos in different holes with different capabilities when it comes to stretching. My body, however, doesn’t always want the stretch that thicker dildos provide. Prima helped remind me of that, as the dildo helped me achieve orgasm after orgasm, time and time again.
It’s not the size that matters, it’s how it’s used and/or what it’s paired with that really makes an impact.
The thing about Solina Toys dildos is that the textured on the shaft is about the same between the realistic dildos: the veins and skin lines are differently placed and do add some texture that some people may feel is too much. Really, it’s the size and heads that make the biggest differences between each of the toys. Prima’s coronal ridge does poke out a bit, though it’s less pronounced than Spotta. Mega L has a bit of a dip between the shaft and coronal ridge, which adds to the intensity of the ridge, whereas Prima does not. The coronal ridge and shaft come together without the dip, so it feels less intense.
As far as how Prima does in a strap-on, I did not wield a strap with the dildo, but my wife did! It can be used in two different ways, with the o-ring around either the suction cup or above the balls. My wife found it more comfortable to wear with the suction cup in the o-ring. I’ve listed the recommended o-ring sizes above in the dimensions. Peepshow Toys sells suction cup harnesses that are also compatible with the suction cup on the base of the dildo, including a “regular” strap-on harness and a thigh harness. I have not tried either harness, so I can’t speak to how well they work, but I do know that Peepshow Toys has several people test products before they’re ever listed for sale on site to make sure that the products meet their in-house quality standards.
Prima is anal friendly, thanks to the testicles, but it’s too small for my wife to want to try it and too big for me to try anally. One of these days I’ll work my way up to that size, but for now, I can’t speak to its use anally. If and when that changes, I’ll be sure to update this!
Final Thoughts on Solina Toys Prima Dildos
In case you remember my ranking of the Solina Toys dildos in my review of their first uncut model, Prima was not a highly ranked model for me. In fact, I gave Prima second to last place, ranking just above the Mega L. Even with that in mind, I hope that you won’t let my rankings sway you if Prima still sounds like it’s the right size & shape for you! It’s still a well made dildo, on par with the rest of the dildos made by Solina Toys. It’s made with body-safe silicone, it’s got a good suction cup, the coronal ridge makes it really nice for g-spot or p-spot stimulation, it’s anal friendly and it’s harness compatible. It’s a good dildo!
Prima by Solina Toys is especially a great model for those who want the hyper-realism without too much girth or length. The texture may be too much for some, but that’s a tolerance that can be built up! Lubricant really helps with the veins & skin lines, though it doesn’t dampen the intensity of the head.
