Solina Toys Monsta Dildo Review

Did someone call for a dual-density monster dildo? Solina Toys has answered the call with Monsta, a werewolf dual-density dildo that’s ready for to make you howl at the moon!

Monsta is the first fantasy dildo from Solina Toys, and I’m hoping it won’t be the last!

I’m Friends with a Monsta

Solina Toys just added two new models to their line-up, Aura and Monsta. Aura sticks to what Solina does best, hyper-realistic dual-density suction cup dildos made with body-safe silicone, but Monsta is where Solina kicked it up a notch. Solina Toys Monsta still has the dual-density body-safe silicone and suction cup, but with a few key differences:

  • bold red and black coloration
  • furry scrotum
  • semi-humanoid shaft and head
  • tapered girth that goes from 1.4″ to 2.125″ diameter

All with Solina Toys’ affordable pricing. Monsta is only $69.99, a very reasonable price given the quality of the dildo. I’ll get to that part a bit later, but first I’ve got some more information to share. The first being that this monster is quite large compared to other Solina dildos! Measuring in at 8.5″ of total length, Monsta has an insertable length of 6.25″ and 2.12″ maximum diameter or 6.75″ maximum circumference.

For those wondering how those measurements compare, Monsta has more girth than the Mega XXL but has a shorter usable length. The useable length is longer than Prima, Spotta and Maxima and shorter than Mega L, XL and XXL. Monsta also has a very slight curve to the shaft.

Pros:

  • Dual-density is squishy on the outside with a firm core, giving it a “real feel”
  • Easy to clean
  • Harness compatiable
  • Anal friendly
  • Suction cup for easy riding
  • Semi-realistic humanoid texture

Cons:

  • Girth is not for beginners
  • Suction cup doesn’t seem quite as strong vs other Solina Toys dildos
  • Cassie & I both think future models could benefit from a bit more curve for better g-spot & p-spot stimulation

Care Instructions for Monta

All of Solina Toys’ dildos are compatible with water-based, hybrid, and natural plant oil lubricants, but they advise users to avoid petroleum jelly and full silicone lubricants. For cleaning, you can use an anti-bacterial, unscented soap that is not silicone based. Cleaning Monsta is quite easy, but you may want a soft toothbrush handy to get in all the nooks, crannies & crevices. It’s best practice to wash your toys before and after each use!

There’s no motor so if you need to do a deeper clean, you can boil it for a few minutes as long as you keep an eye on it to make sure it’s not touching the sides or bottom of the pan. Alternatively, you can soak it in a 1:10 bleach:water mixture or run it through a dishwasher on a sanitize setting without detergent.

While the suction cup and bottom of the balls are made with firm silicone, you should still be careful not to pull too hard, bite, scratch or try to tear the silicone. Storage also matters to preserve the life of your dildo, so be sure you’re only storing this next to other platinum cured silicone. Don’t store it next to non-silicone toys or against abrasive materials.

The Monsta Under My Bed

When the box from Peepshow Toys arrived with Monsta in it, Cassie was so excited. Finally, a dual-density dildo that’s got a girth that is enticing to her! She was so excited that we used it on her that very same day. I smooshed the suction cup into my RodeoH harness and got to work. The dildo stayed put in the 1.75″ o-ring without issue, and I was glad to have that suction cup base for ease of use in my harness.

Cassie was the first one of us to take Monsta. She was worried that the deep vertical texture that runs along the bottom of the shaft would end up filling her with air. Bad Dragon’s Orochi has somewhat similar vertical texture that we’ve found ends up filling her up with air and she spends the rest of the day or night feeling extra gassy. However, we were happy to find that Monsta did not have that result! Cassie said she would prefer more of a curve to the shaft, but was very pleased with the quality of the dual-density silicone.

While Cassie may be the girth size-queen of the house, that’s not always the case for me. I can handle some girth though squishy girth, like Monsta, is much easier to take than some firmer silicone toys in our collection. The tip of the head is the squishiest part of the dildo, which made it comfortable for me to insert despite the girth.

My preferred method of using Monsta was to partially insert it and let it sit in place while I used a bullet vibrator on my clitoris. The stretch was really, really nice, though as I was rocking my hips, I ended up accidentally pushing it further in than I intended. The stretch was intense, though thanks to the dual-density, I didn’t experience any discomfort. It was more of a surprise, as I hadn’t inserted it that deep. It was a rare case of my thick thighs working against my intention, pushing the toy further in as my legs squeezed together in pleasure.

As far as the tactile feel of Monsta, their silicone is really lovely. There’s some drag, but it’s on the low end of the spectrum. The squish of the dual-density is also really top tier. I really love dual-density dildos, and I’m glad to see a fantasy dildo option added into the mix. There are only a few indie shops that I know of that make dual-density dildos, such as Uberrime and Pris Toys, but it’s something I’d love to see more of in the future… especially more dual-density fantasy dildos!

Speaking of silicone, I’m not entirely sure what shore rating the silicone used for Monsta is, however I’m going to guess that the exterior layer is around soft 00-40, while the interior core is around a medium firm 10A or 15A. I’m making these guesses based off the Smooth-On Shore Hardness Scale and squeezing various toys in my collection. The firm core does feel quite close to the firmness of my medium Sea Horse by Uncover Creations.

The firmer the silicone, the less sticky or tacky feeling it becomes. This is something that really sets Solina Toys apart from indie toy brands, as many indie toy brands max out their firmness around 10A. There is so little drag and almost no tackiness on Monsta! The difference in silicone between Monsta and literally any & all toys in my collection from indie companies is very, very noticeable. For me, this is neither good nor bad, it just is what it is: different.

Tips on Preparing & Stretching for Monsta

If you’ve never taken a girthy dildo, stretching is imperative! You don’t want to end up tearing yourself, as that’ll put you out of commission for a few days at least.

First and foremost, make sure you’ve got a water-based lubricant handy! Warming yourself up a bit is really helpful, especially if you’re using Monsta vaginally. For those using Monsta anally, wearing a butt plug or dilator beforehand may help. Once you’ve warmed up, apply lubricant to Monsta and slowly ease it in. Pay attention to the way your body reacts, as there’s a thin line between mild discomfort and tearing. Going too fast is often a recipe for disaster! As long as your body is accommodating in a comfortable & pleasurable way, continue inserting it. After fully inserted, I recommend giving yourself a minute or two to just let it fill you up. Once you feel ready, you can thrust it, ride it, or just let it stay put for a really pleasurable feeling of fullness.

Some Thoughts on Fantasy Dildos

It’s cool to see one of my favorite “mainstream” brands branching out into monster toys, especially since they’re making dual-density, body-safe silicone options. As romantasy grows as a subgenre, I imagine that we’re going to see even more companies making fantasy toys. Romantasy, for those unaware, is a literary subgenre that features mild to wild, lustful encounters with non-human creatures. The creatures of Dungeons & Dragons meets Literotica, if you will. I’ve seen it growing in popularity as a subgenre over the last decade+, especially with the rise of #booktok, and includes series such as A Court of Thorns and Roses, Fourth Wing, and From Blood and Ash.

Now everyone wants dildos of the creatures they’ve had lusty thoughts over! And to that, I say: Welcome, new friends! Hold onto your butts, because this is just the tip of the fae, werewolf, vampire, [insert your preferred creature here] cock.

My biggest worry here is mainstream brands like XR-Brands, the parent company of the Creature Cocks sub-brand, and even Solina Toys, overtaking the indie toy companies that exist. One of the things I really appreciate about the owner behind Solina Toys is their dedication to designs that are not copies of toys from smaller brands, and I do hope they stick to that. I think they know that folks like me will be watching.

And, even though I am wary about bigger brands getting into monster dildos, I also want to be really hopeful about the future of fantasy toys. I hope that toys like Monsta act as a stepping stone for people that leads them towards the indie toy brands that are out there. There is something really fucking cool about customizing a dildo the way indie toy brands do, and I never want to see that go away. Especially after seeing so many indie companies struggling after Etsy de-platformed them.

With that said, I want to believe that there is space in the sex toy industry for both mainstream brands and indie brands to continue co-existing, and hopefully without stepping on the toys of one another.

Final Thoughts on Solina Toys Monsta

I am overall a fan of Solina Toys’ Monsta. I like their departure from ultra-realistic dildos while still maintaining the key selling points of Solina Toys’ line-up: dual-density, suction cup, body-safe silicone, affordably priced. Monsta is a well crafted dildo, and I’m curious to see what sort of creatures Solina Toys has planned for future models.

This dildo is not for beginners! The girth is above average, and can feel like it’s splitting you in half if you’re inexperienced or you’re not careful. With that in mind, I do think that Monsta is an excellent introduction to the world of monster or fantasy dildos for those who are wanting to take pleasure to the next level.
