If you’re still having sex on your regular bedding, stop what you’re doing and read this review of the Solina Sex Blanket, the waterproof blanket your sex life is missing.
I’m not even kidding.
I already love the Solina Toys dildos, so when they offered to send me their new sex blanket to review, you know I had to get one. This isn’t my first sex blanket, hell, it’s not even my second sex blanket. What’s so good about this one that has me recommending it? Well, let me get down to it!
Why Do You Need A Sex Blanket?
If you’re tired of having a wet spot on the bed before you go to sleep, if towels just aren’t enough to absorb the sweat, cum, squirt, lube and whatever other fluids you’ve got going on, if you want to partake in piss play in bed, if you use ejaculating dildos, if you want an easy clean-up after messy sex… you need a sex blanket.

From the perspective of a self-produced fetish porn performer, sex blankets aren’t just for sex. They’re also great for wet & messy or sploshing play, huge cum shots or multiple cum shots, real or fake lactation, and just about any other type of mess you can make while filming or fucking!
The Solina Sex Blanket is a waterproof blanket that protects your bed, couch, chaise, or other furniture from fluids and lubricants. It repels liquids so you won’t have a wet spot after sex, instead collecting all the fluids in one place. As a couple that uses a lot of lubricant during sex and gets pretty sweaty during the summer months, sex blankets don’t just protect our bedding & keep us from sleeping in a wet spot, they also protect our mattress from staining.
It’s wild to say this, but sex blankets actually improved our sex life. No longer worried about making a mess with silicone or water-based lubricants, our sex started to have a better flow to it. The bottle of lube no longer needed to be placed back on the nightstand in case it leaked or the bottle itself was slippery. I no longer worried about lubricant dripping off a toy & getting on the sheets before sliding it into my wife. Small distractions like those were no longer slowing down our sex.
But, not every waterproof blanket is equal, and not every waterproof blanket makes for a good sex blanket.
Why the Solina Sex Blanket Stands Out
I bet we’ve all used towels or extra blankets during sex in hopes of containing messes or not leaving a wet spot. I don’t know how you feel about them, but they always left something to be desired. They’re too small and they don’t stop fluids from transferring to the bedding or mattress itself. My days of using a towel when I’m having sex on my period are over.
When someone suggested a waterproof blanket for sex, I ordered one that same day.

The first waterproof blanket that my wife and I tried was technically a purple waterproof blanket for pets. I ordered the largest size I could for our king size bed in Vegas, and while it did work, there was an issue that made it less than ideal: the double-sided blanket was made with two large pieces of fabric sewn together only around the edges. Which meant there was a lot of blanket movement during sex, causing whoever was topping to slide around quite a bit. Which meant that there was a lot of repositioning of bodies during sex. The size and color were both great, but the dual layers were just not good for sex.
Because of that, I opted not to bring that blanket with us to the Netherlands. It was heavy, it was awkward to fold, and it wasn’t the best blanket for sex, so it was replaceable.
Our second sex blanket was significantly smaller. Long ways, we could both lie on it side by side, but it didn’t have much width, so it wasn’t giving our mattress “full coverage.” It was also brown and ugly. Yea, it worked, but the small size made it less than ideal because we still found ourselves having to pay attention to where the lube bottle rolled to on the bed. Maybe aesthetics matter too much to me, but brown didn’t exactly spark desire within me. It did the job, but it wasn’t soft, it wasn’t big enough, and it was an ugly, non-sexy color.

Enter the Solina Sex Blanket. My very first impression straight out of the box was “wow, this is soft!” Then, I unfolded it and my second thought was “wow, this is big!” I’m one of those people who can read the dimensions but not really understand how big or small something is. I’m missing whatever skill or ability it is that would allow me to visualize dimensions. I threw it on our bed, a European King, and was surprised at how much bigger this one is than the other sex blanket we have. It doesn’t cover our bed corner to corner, but the blanket is large enough that it thoroughly covers a majority of it. Oh, and the color? Sleek, sexy black.
Everything You Need to Know About Solina Sex Blanket
This waterproof sex blanket measures in at 56″x70″, and is made of polyester with a protective inner moisture barrier. The edges are all securely stitched, and there is a small tag that reads Solina Waterproof Blanket on one side with care instructions on the other side. The fabric is very soft and has a smooth, velvety-esque texture.

Solina claims that the blanket is “non-linty” and I was very curious to test this claim, because what does that even mean? After washing it, the lint trap in the dryer did not come out full of fibers, which was a great start. I threw the blanket on the bed and rubbed a sweater against it, specifically a sweater that sheds quite a bit, and found that the fibers of my sweater did not stick to the blanket. So far, I have not seen any hair, sweater fibers, or anything else trapped in the fibers of the blanket after pulling it out of the washer & dryer.
To clean the Solina Waterproof Blanket, it’s recommended to spot-clean using soap and water before throwing it into your washing machine on delicate. Once washed, you can hang dry or place it in the dryer on low to medium heat. Here in Europe, our dryer is not great, so we did have to either run it through the dryer multiple times to get it to fully dry out or run it through once then hang to dry. We’ve found that simply running it through the washing machine is enough unless there’s an accident (ie, menstrual blood or feces).
Since this is a larger blanket than the other one we have, it does take up more space in our limited storage. It’s still quite flat when folded, though, so storing it isn’t a pain. Aside from the small tag that reads Solina Waterproof Blanket, there’s no indication that this might be a sex blanket, so it can also be used as a throw blanket over a couch or chair if storage space is limited. We store ours in our linen closet with other blankets.
When using the Solina Sex Blanket, we aren’t experiencing any slipping or moving around, the way we did with our first sex blanket. It is still a blanket, and the fabric moves similarly to any other blankets or bedding during a romp, but it’s not disrupting our sex.

The Final Verdict on Solina Sex Blanket
I obviously have not tested every single waterproof blanket or sex blanket available, but after having tested 3 different options, I’d go with the Solina Sex Blanket every time. The size is great, the color is nice, it doesn’t disrupt sex by causing our bodies to slip or move, and it does its job very well. Plus, it’s a discreet blanket that can be draped over the back of a chair or couch to store without drawing attention to its intended purpose!
