I’ve had my eye on Simply Elegant Glass ever since the first time I came across them on Twitter – sometime in 2017 or 2018, I believe. I love glass, like a lot, but the price tag was always a bit daunting to me and I had a lot of “I’m being selfish” feelings about spending that much money on a sex toy when I had other “more pressing” things to spend my money on.
Cassie played a little trick on me back in 2022. A month or so before my birthday, she sent me links to a couple of pictures Simply Elegant Glass posted on twitter. Since we send each other links to pretty dildos all the time, I didn’t think anything of it. My reaction at that time was along the lines of “oh those are pretty! That one looks a bit too smooth for me, and the swirling texture on that one looks too much, though.” So, when my birthday came a few weeks later and I opened a carefully wrapped gift from my now wife, only to see those same two different pieces from Simply Elegant Glass, I am fairly certain I screamed. The toys were beautiful. Stunning, even!!
Cheeky, right? Well, turns out that when I told her the two toys she showed me weren’t quite for me, she had ordered a third piece that would arrive a week or so later. Talk about spoiled!! It ended up that the one I thought would be “too smooth,” was perfect. Not just for me, but for her too!

Who is Simply Elegant Glass?
Based in Colorado, Simply Elegant Glass is a two person team that makes glass toys, drinkware, and more. They’ve been around for quite some time – according to Twitter, they opened their account in January 2017. Simply Elegant Glass is a queer owned company that makes custom pieces as well as offering pre-made pieces. Each and every single one of their pieces is unique, much like other indie toy brands. They have some shapes that they repeat, but colors aren’t always the same and the nature of glass means that even if the colors are the same, the effect may be different piece to piece.
Simply Elegant Glass also makes sure that each and every piece is annealed, inspecting everything that they make under a polariscope. A polariscope is a tool that helps them check for stresses that may endanger the integrity of their glass pieces. Stress free glass is important because it is less likely to break – not that a glass piece is likely to break while it’s inside you! If you’re curious about glass sex toys, I highly recommend checking out this guide about glass safety by Dangerous Lilly.

When shopping Simply Elegant Glass’s site, they don’t have “dildos” listed, but don’t be confused! Wands, Unicorn Horns, and Fantasy Toys are all dildos. Wands are the textureless dildos, though they do have bulbous spots – sometimes just the tip, sometimes with a second bulbous area on the shaft. Unicorn Horns have a spiral ridge texture on the shaft, and Fantasy Toys are well, fantasy toys: primarily werewolves but also some tentacles in the archives too!
Meet the Wand Dildo
Before I get too deep here, I want to point out a minor flaw in this review: because each piece is 100% unique, I can give you all the information about this particular piece, but it’s highly unlikely that you’ll get something that is the exact shape or size. Simply Elegant Glass does have wands listed on their site for sale and at the time of writing this, there’s nothing that matches the exactly shape of the one I’m reviewing here!
Specs:
- 8.25″ total length
- 6.25″ useable length
- 4.75″ maximum circumference
- 3″ minimum circumference
- Handle size: 1.75″ long and just under 4.5″ circumference
This piece has a large, rounded tip that features the thickest circumference on the dildo, before getting slightly narrower then a smaller second bulge before getting to the most narrow part of the dildo, right before a “stopper” and the handle. The coloration is a marble of reds, yellows, oranges, even some greens and purples swirled in. Aside from the thickest-thin-thick-thinnest shape of the toy, there’s no texture whatsoever on this wand dildo.

How to Care for Glass Toys
If you thought silicone was easy to clean, well hold onto your butts, because glass is even easier to clean. You can use pretty much any type of cleaner, you can run it through a dishwasher, or you can soak it in a 1 part bleach to 10 parts water mixture. Nothing will change or distort the colors.
Another benefit of glass? You can use any type of lubricant with it. Silicone, oil, water or hybrid lubricants are all safe to use with Simply Elegant Glass’s toys.
The downside of glass is that it is still breakable, even after it’s been checked for stress points! Don’t store it on stone, crystal, metal or glass surfaces, and don’t let glass toys bump into each other to avoid chipping or scratching the surface. This is glass and if it’s scratched or chipped, it can injure the user! It’s a good practice to store your glass pieces in a padded bag or in a sock that lost it’s partner. When we moved from the US to NL, we wrapped each piece in multiple socks and packed them in the middle/middle of boxes of clothing just to be safe!

Glass Toys and Temperature Play
If you love temperature play, then you really need some glass in your collection! You can heat or cool pieces without risk of damaging the piece, however there are some important things to keep in mind:
- Do NOT microwave your toy! Not all colors are microwave safe and this could damage your toy.
- You can place the toy in the refrigerator to help cool it off, but avoid the freezer so you’re not hurting yourself or your partner.
- To warm up a toy, soak it in a warm bath for a while before use. Don’t use water that is too hot to hold your hand in for 10+ seconds comfortable. No scorching hot water, no boiling water. Start with warm water that matches your body temperature if you’re unsure. If it’s too hot to touch, it’s too hot to use.
- Basically, no extreme temperatures!
Glass changes temperature easily, and your environmental temperature will have an effect on your dildo if you leave it out of the warm water or fridge too long. Warming or cooling lubricants won’t have an impact on the glass temperature itself. Commonly used ingredients in these types of lubes react to the body rather than the surface they’re put on.

My Experiences with the Wand Dildo
Despite what I originally told Cassie when she tricked me into getting my opinion on the toys she was buying, I really love this particular dildo by Simply Elegant Glass. I tend to like some texture, and a smooth surface didn’t seem like it would really stimulate me the way I wanted it too… until I tried it. Then, all of my preconceived notions went right out the door!
Because glass is a Very Firm material, there is no flexibility. This can make glass pieces feel a bit larger than they actually are, because your body can’t squeeze them the way it can with silicone dildos. And wow, did this particular piece really give me that feeling of fullness! Whether it was thrust in and out of me, or just inserted & left alone, every single time I use this piece, I feel Full.
I really love the handle on the dildo both for solo use and use on someone else. It makes it easier to grip, though I do wish the handle was slightly larger for a more comfortable hold. The handle might be an ok size for some, but with my grip issues & nerve damage, I need a somewhat larger handle when using this on someone else. For solo, it’s fine. For partner, it’s just not quite what I need.

The other issue with the handle is that it’s not wider than the widest point of the shaft, so in theory, this isn’t ideal for anal play. There is a ridge between the narrowest part of the shaft and the handle that sort of acts as a stopper, but again, it’s not wider than the widest point of the toy. That said, I use this particular toy on Cassie’s ass pretty regularly. I try to always keep the firmest grip I’m capable of on the handle and maintain careful strokes so as to not accidentally push it too far, especially if she’s used a larger toy first or has been stretching in the last couple of days.
By the time the third dildo from Simply Elegant Glass arrived after I opened this one for my birthday, I had already decided I didn’t need that third dildo. This one was simply enough! But that didn’t stop me from enjoying that third one, obviously.
Final Word on Simply Elegant Glass
Of all the types of toys out there, glass dildos are one of my absolute favorite types of toys. They’re perfect for temperature play, they have no drag (unless they’re “frosted”), they’re body-safe, and the firmness is top tier for that really good feeling of fullness. While Simply Elegant Glass does have some expensive pieces, like their fantasy toys, wands & unicorn horns tend to be a bit more affordable depending on size and complexity.

Even though this wand dildo is very smooth, I wouldn’t recommend this size piece for beginners. It’s quite thick, and glass isn’t as forgiving as silicone, so it can be a bit much. If I were a beginner, I’d look for pieces with a smaller circumference to start. If you want to get a smooth wand like this one, but you don’t see any that fit your size needs, you can always contact them for a quote on a custom piece!
Overall, I love Simply Elegant Glass. I love seeing their beautiful works of art as they grace my Bluesky timeline. I highly recommend them, whether you’re shopping for yourself or for a lover. Keep an eye on their social media pages to spot new toy drops and sale announcements!
In case it wasn’t clear throughout this review, this toy was purchased by my now wife. I am not an affiliate, I do not have a relationship with Simply Elegant Glass. I simply love their pieces, and wanted to share a unique, indie glass toy brand with my readers!
