When it comes to accessibility and sex toys, the two don’t always go hand in hand. I’d wager that most sex toys on the market are not made with any sort of accessibility considerations, though I can’t actually prove that theory. When I saw the SilcArts ergonomic handles, I was curious. Originally, I saw a performer I’d met on set post about the handles on twitter, and I looked it up, bookmarked the site… then promptly forgot to look further into them.

It took more over a year to finally get one, but the SilcArts Silc Touch v1 Suction Cup Ergonomic Handle couldn’t have come at a better time. First, because I’ve got more suction cup toys in my collection than I used to have, and second, because my recent change in hormones has left me craving penetration more frequently… and not just my normal masturbation style of penetration. No, I’ve needed thrusting.
But thrusting during masturbation is difficult for me for a number of reasons: short arms & big belly combo, difficult to comfortably stay in a position long enough to achieve orgasm when hand pumping, short dildos that make it even more difficult to reach… Unless I’m using a fuck machine, it’s just too much work when all I want to do is feel blissed out, lost in pleasure.
The Silc Touch v1 handle changed my masturbation game, though, both in a great way and in some very unexpected ways. Before I jump too far into that, allow me to catch you up to speed!
Meet the Silc Touch v1 Suction Cup Ergonomic Handle
Made with Urethane plastic, the Silc Touch v1 ergonomic handle is available in small, medium, and large, in your choice of blue, pink or purple. You can select between a suction cup or vac-u-lock attachment end, each with different merits. I’ve now got both, but today I’m focusing solely on the suction cup handle with the vac-u-lock version review coming in the future. The handles are very firm, though there is a very slight amount of flex if you try. Each handle is made to order in the US by Matt, the owner of SilcArts. If you’re curious about how they’re made, SilcArts published this video on their YouTube channel that shows the process!
The suction cup handles have a flat attachment head that measures 2.75″ / 6.985cm. This means that the toy you attach to the handle needs to have a smaller or equal base size when squished down, or else the toy simply won’t stay suctioned. Trust me, I tried with a larger suction cup, and it did not stay put.

Though the handle is already ergonomically designed, some users may still struggle to comfortably hold the handle. With that consideration in mind, SilcArts also makes silicone loop handles that slide onto the handle. I did not get the loop handles, but now that I’ve used the handle for several weeks, I see the appeal of the handles & plan to order a set in the future!
How to Use & Care for the Silc Touch v1 Handle
Using a suction cup dildo or a double-sided suction cup, attach the suction end to the flat, smooth base of the ergonomic handle. Add lubricant to the dildo and insert it into your preferred hole. Once inserted and comfortable, use your hands or forearms to rock the handle back and forth towards your body. The wider your range of motion in rocking the handle back and forth, the wider the thrusting range you’ll experience. The handle can be gripped by the “demon tail” at the opposite end from the suction cup attachment, or wherever your hands or forearms naturally gravitate towards.
When you’re done using the handle, run a finger along the underside of the suction cup to loosen the suction and gently remove the dildo from the handle. I do not recommend pulling or forcing the suction cup dildo loose, as silicone can tear if you’re not careful! Once the dildo is separated from the handle, wash both the dildo and handle warm water & unscented, antibacterial soap. You can pat the handle dry or set it out to air dry in a spot that does not get direct sunlight. Do not use cleaning chemicals to wash the handle.

My Experiences with the Silc Touch v1 Suction Cup Handle
I mentioned earlier that the SilcArts Silc Touch handle changed my masturbation game, and it’s true. Before receiving the ergonomic handle to review, I was pretty routine with my masturbatory habits: lie back, insert a dildo, use a vibrator on my clit with one hand, and hold my phone to read erotica with the other hand. I still do that sometimes, particularly with dual stimulation vibrators, but when it comes to using dildos on myself, I’m now much more keen to use the handle so I can experience thrusting.
The handle can be a challenge for me to use one handed, so I’ve found that propping my phone up on my chest against something else is the best way to use the handle if I want to read my erotica instead of watching or listening. That’s not to say I can’t use it one handed, I’ve just realized that when I want longer strokes, using it one handed just isn’t quite enough to keep it steady while making those longer strokes.

Because I am using the handle with both hands, I’ve changed how I consume my erotica. I’m listening to audio erotica a lot more than ever before and have spent more time masturbating in front of the tv instead of in bed. I’m also not using vibrators for external stimulation quite as much, because the thrusting I’m now able to do is enough to help me achieve orgasm with or without clitoral stimulation.
Being on my back isn’t the only way I’ve tried the handle, though! I also tried it while standing with the handle in front of me and behind me, both while the dildo attached was inserted vaginally. For me, it was always easier to use the handle when it was in front of my body.
Prior to receiving the handle, I spoke with the owner of SilcArts, Matt, about how to choose a handle. He warned me that the vac-u-lock handle gives a more secure attachment than the suction cup handle, and that using double-sided suction cups acts more of a hinge. Ever the diligent reviewer, I tried the suction cup handle with suction cup dildos and with a double-sided suction cup securing different toys to the handle. I found that the weight & firmness of the toy really mattered when using the double-sided suction cup.
The heavier a toy weight, the more it drooped from the handle when using a double-sided suction cup, but lighter weight toys also drooped. This definitely changed the angle of insertion and penetration, and it was most noticeable with heavy toys and/or super soft toys. Lighter weight toys and firmer toys didn’t have such a dramatic droop.

How to Choose Between Silc Touch Handles
Really, choosing between the different Silc Touch Ergonomic Handles comes down to personal preference and body size. I opted to get a size medium v2 suction cup handle. If you have a long torso or you want to use a handle during partner play you may need a longer handle. If you only plan to use the handle for solo play, you may not need as much length. If you want to use a handle with a partner, I recommend considering the positions you’d likely use it in and do some measuring of where your hands or arms comfortably would reach and how far from there to your partner’s hole.
For using a toy with a partner, I think that the v2 is better suited for this than the v1. The v1, which is the focus of this review, has a bit more of a rounded handle, while the v2 has a less rounded handle that becomes straight & horizontal right before the adapter end. That straight & horizontal angle of the handle on the v2 helps keep dildos aligned in a similar way, though again, double-sided suction cups will likely still cause drooping.
