Pussy Punch Toys Lover Saber Review

Every May, the world celebrates May 4th as Star Wars Day. This year, Pussy Punch Toys had a social media giveaway going on in which they were giving away a handful of Star Wars themed sex toys. I entered and won! A few weeks later a box arrived that I had completely forgotten all about, containing the Lover Saber (and some other goodies, but that’s not why we’re here today).

As a fan of Star Wars and as a performer who has been paid to have dildo light saber fights, I was stoked. Would having a light saber dildo lead to more dildo light saber fights? I don’t have the answer to that (yet). In the meantime, let’s take a look at Pussy Punch Toys!

Meet Pussy Punch Toys

Based in the United Kingdom, Pussy Punch Toys is an indie toy maker that creates some really unique, cute designs. Remember Mrs Whippy? That’s from Pussy Punch Toys! You’ll find Ghostface, light sabers, ice cream cones, caterpillar, and more in their available options for toys. Think whimsical, cute, geeky and/or playful – that’s what you can expect from their full collection of offerings. Many of their designs are non-phallic, giving customers the chance to find cute toys that aren’t intimidating or triggering, but maybe could be placed on a bookcase as a discreet sex toy on display.

The owners of Pussy Punch Toys are a couple with a background in entertainment and sex education. They started making toys to help bring back fun into their bedroom, which has in turn helped many others do the same. All of their toys are handcrafted, vegan, and made with body-safe materials. They’re big supporters of the sex worker community, and I don’t think I need to remind anyone how important that is to me (a sex worker)!

One of the things that I really love and appreciate about Pussy Punch Toys is that they are eager & willing to really bring your vision for toys to life. Seriously – they are super friendly and if you message them about ordering something special, they’re really responsive. Even if they don’t have the exact color options that you want, it’s absolutely worth messaging them to see if they can make you your preferred toy in your preferred colors.

This isn’t your father’s lightsaber. It’s the Lover Saber

Prepare for something big, because that’s what the Lover Saber is! Measuring in at 10 inches long with a 5.25 inch circumference and 7 inches at the widest point, Lover Saber is a big toy. He only comes in one size, though Pussy Punch Toys does have a similar model that is smaller, the Laser Saber Dildo. The product listing for Lover Saber is a bit confusing, in that you’re able to select 2 colors from the drop menu and say yes/no to glitter, but the product description states that you get 2 color options for the blade and 1 color option for the handle. As I mentioned before, though, if you want something different or something more, message them to see if it’s possible!

The blade is the insertable end, with a rounded tip and no texture on the “shaft.” The handle, is slightly wider than the blade, coming in at 6.5″ circumference on the top of the handle. The handle has the “power button” like a light saber and some texture that makes it easy to grip. Since the blade is the insertable end, then you’re really only looking at 5″ of insertable length!

Now technically speaking, I think you probably could use this for anal penetration, but to be honest, I’m not sure that I’d suggest it. The difference between the blade and handle is just over an inch in size, and it’s not really a proper flare so I don’t think this dildo is truly anal safe. When I asked Cassie if she’d consider using it for anal, here’s what she shared: “you could use it anally like any dildo, but since there’s no flared base, I wouldn’t recommend sitting on it.”

Caring for the Lover Saber

If you’re familiar with silicone dildos, you know how easy it is to clean! However, for those who aren’t familiar, let me share: before and after use, wash the Lover Saber with warm water and a mild, antibacterial, unscented soap. Easy peasy! Pussy Punch Toys does recommend giving their toys a deeper clean every 3-6 months by boiling it for 8-10 minutes.

When selecting a lubricant to use with Lover Saber, Pussy Punch Toys is pretty firm on not using silicone-based lubes with their sex toys. They recommend only using water-based lubricants to preserver the life of your toy.

After you’ve used and washed your toy, storing is also a really important part of caring for it! Do not store your Lover Saber with non-silicone toys, don’t bite it or scratch it, don’t store it against any abrasive materials. If you’re not sure if another toy is silicone or not, it’s always better to be safe & store them separately than to be sorry!

My Experiences with the Lover Saber

When I opened the box from Pussy Punch Toys, I was pleasantly surprised by a lot of goodies: candy, stickers, a card with care information, plus two other silicone toys! That is what happened last time I got a package from them too, only I think the first time I got a package from them, they included additional silicone squishies. This is something that Pussy Punch Toys really does a fantastic job with: making their boxes fully of cute, fun stuff that makes opening them feel exciting. I can only imagine how their Large Mystery Box of Toys arrives, because every box from them feels like sexy Christmas where you don’t know what you’re getting, but you know it’ll get you off.

My favorite way to use Lover Saber was to insert it and leave it while using a vibrator on my clitoris. The feeling of fullness was amazing with it inserted and not moving. I also tried using it for thrusting, but the lack of texture was a bit underwhelming and I quickly switched back to using it just to give me that delicious fullness. Because it’s such a smooth dildo, thrusting it really just felt like an arm workout without adequate stimulation to make it worth doing.

The fullness though!!! Holy moly. The girth really just made me feel like I was stretched open, and it felt good. It didn’t matter if I was using a wand, a bullet vibe, a g-spot vibe or a licking toy, all of them felt incredible on my clitoris while the dildo was inserted. I was rocking my hips whether I wanted to or not, whether I could feel texture or not. It was so so good.

As much as I enjoyed the fullness of Lover Saber, the dildo isn’t perfect. I don’t mean design wise, I mean there’s a few things about the one I received that suggests “flop” to me. If you don’t what a flop is, it’s sort of an “oops, something got fucked up” term used by indie toy companies when toys have a cosmetic “defect” of some sort. Defects can be things like an accidental nick from a sharp blade that causes an indent, silicone could tear during de-molding, colors didn’t come out correctly, air bubbles, etc. Some indie toy companies sell flops at a discounted price as long as the damage is cosmetic & won’t detract from the usability of the toy. Typically, I don’t worry too much about flops unless there’s a knick on the shaft of a toy that looks difficult to properly clean.

Ok, so what about makes me think this one is a “flop”? There are 3 things that caught my eye:

  1. the base is not trimmed particularly well. Looking at the bases for the other toys I have from Pussy Punch Toys, the trim on the base of Lover Saber just seems… sloppy? rushed? like someone was having a hard time keeping their hand steady? Thankfully, this is something that I can fix with the right pair of scissors and some patience.
  2. on the rounded tip of the shaft, there are a couple of darker color spots that don’t match
  3. on the side of the shaft, there is a raised area where it looks like the glitter is poking out. It could be a bubble, but I’m not really sure because it’s so small that I can’t properly see it, but I can feel it with my fingers (where’s a magnifying glass when I need one?!)

None of these flops are really a big deal to me, and the integrity of the dildo doesn’t seem like it’s damaged or unsafe for use.

Final Thoughts on Lover Saber

I think Lover Saber is likely going to be too girthy for some, but that’s what the Laser Saber Dildo is for! Lover Saber is excellent for those who love the feeling of fullness and want a toy with a handle (even if you’re just going to insert without thrusting). As someone who likes a good handle on their dildos, I overall like the design of Lover Saber. I think it’s going to be really helpful for stretching before scenes with well-endowed scene partners and even in preparation of taking my wife’s girl cock.

As I mentioned earlier, I happened to win a social media contest for the Lover Saber. To be honest, I probably would have overlooked it had I been shopping for something that I want. Mainly because it doesn’t have any texture on the blade/shaft and it’s a very straight dildo. I tend to prefer something that’s a little spicier – give me some texture or a bulge or something! However, I tried to still be subjective when reviewing the dildo. Even if this dildo isn’t a design for me, that doesn’t mean it isn’t a design for somebody!

I don’t have an affiliate link or anything like that for Pussy Punch Toys, but please don’t let that stop you from buying from them! They have some really cute designs and their prices are really good. The Lover Saber is $46/€40/£33, which is really reasonable for a custom color dildo (although shipping to the EU is currently unavailable).
