The wave of ultra discreet sex toys that have come out over the last few years are so cool to me. I love discreet toys, as I think they’re really important for people who don’t have the luxury of having sex toys in glass display cases like I do. So when I first laid eyes on the NS Novelties Firefly Dream Air-Pulse Clitoral Vibrator, I loved it!
This vibrator is special: it looks like a piece of decoration that doubles as a glowing nightlight. It could easily be placed on a bookshelf or dresser without anyone second guessing it.
But is this cute, discreet vibrator worth it or is this vibe strictly aesthetically pleasing?
The Basics
NS Novelties Firefly Dream is a glow in the dark, crescent moon shaped air pulsation, or “suction”, clitoral vibrator. This is a 3 piece vibrator set: a cloud shaped charging base, the vibe itself, and a removable dust cover to finish out the crescent moon design of the vibe. It is equipped 2 independently controlled motors, with 10 air-pulse functions and 10 vibration functions. The 10 functions include 3 steady speeds and 7 patterns.
That’s not all though! Firefly Dream has 2 vibration areas: under the air-pulse for simultaneous use with the suction, and the opposite end for clitoral or vaginal play. It’s a double-ended vibrator! The opposite end is like a curved, ergonomic vibrator that can be used externally or internally (vaginally only! This vibe is not anal safe).
Made with body-safe silicone and ABS plastic, the vibrator itself is silicone while the gold trim and cloud stand are non-porous ABS. It is rechargeable and splashproof.

Care & Charging the Firefly Dream
Charging the NS Novelties Firefly Dream is easy! The cloud base is a magnetic charging base, so all you need to do is plug it into a USB charging brick, and align the magnetics on the vibrator to the magnets on the base. While charging, the lights on the vibrator will flash.
Once fully charged, the lights go steady. Charging will take about 2 hours. Run time varies depending on intensity, but you can expect between 1-2 hours of run time.
You should only use a water-based lubricant with the Firefly Dream.
Cleaning can be a bit of a challenge if you get fluids on the ABS plastic rim. I recommend a soft-bristle toothbrush or other soft cleaning brush to more thoroughly clean.
How to Use the Firefly Dream
After you’ve charged the NS Novelties Firefly Dream, take it off the cloud charging base and remove the dust cover with a slight twist, then press & hold the power button for 3 seconds. This will turn the vibrator on, but you’ll still need to press the button again to turn on the air-pulse vibration or press the other button to turn on the vibration only end.
To turn the vibrator off, press and hold the power button again for 3 seconds.
Grab your favorite water-based lube and put a small amount around the inside of the air-pulsation mouth. Turn on the toy, then place the hole over your clitoris. Start slowly if it’s your first time using a “suction” vibrator! You can also move it under your clit or pull it slightly away if the suction feels too intense.
If you want to use the vibrator without the air-pulsation, flip it around and use the other end on your clitoris or to penetrate your vagina. This vibrator is not anal safe, so don’t insert it anally!
My Experience
I was prepared for the NS Novelties Firefly Dream to be another cute vibrator that wasn’t strong enough to get me off. My expectations were blown away. This is a really good air pulse “suction” vibrator.
The first time I used the vibe, I used it exclusively on my clitoris with the air pulsations going, but I didn’t turn on the vibrations. I started on the lowest “suction” setting which felt really good, but I wasn’t able to achieve orgasm until I turned it up to the 2nd intensity. As soon as I went up to the 2nd intensity, I orgasmed within minutes. It was one of those orgasms that felt like an explosion rocking my entire body.
The second time, I used it with both the air pulsations and the vibrations, and with both at the lowest setting I was able to orgasm quickly. It was intense! It felt like the air pulsations were echoing around my clit. I read that the vibrator echoed, but I didn’t understand what that meant until I experienced it myself. It was intense in the best way possible.
The third time, I used just the vibrations on the opposite end from the suction hole. I held it against my clitoris as if it were a bullet vibrator and found the curved hand so much more comfortable to hold than a bullet vibe. The vibrations were very good, but I prefer a vibe with larger surface area than the Firefly Dream was able to provide. I tried moving it down to press the side of the tip against my clit, and it just became a little more difficult to hold. For someone who doesn’t have grip issues and the short arms/fat belly combination, it may not be as difficult to hold when using it that way.
I wasn’t able to test the Firefly Dream during penetrative sex due to my wife having surgery, but I did try it with a dildo inserted. Because of the shape, I imagine that Firefly Dream would be really comfortable to hold during PIV sex due to the curved handle and the overall girth of the design. It’s narrow enough that I believe it would fit between two bodies quite comfortably, unless both bodies are plus size. If both bodies are plus size, I think it may be less comfortable to hold in place, but that is purely speculation based on past experiences with using toys with a plus size partner.
As far as trying it with a dildo inserted, I was over the moon in pleasure (pun intended). I didn’t even move the dildo, I just enjoyed the feeling of fullness as I enjoyed the air pulsations and vibrations. The euphoria I experienced was amazing. My entire body was trembling and shaking as orgasm after orgasm washed over me.
Now, I’m faced with a difficult decision… do I keep this one to take with me overseas or do I pick out a different air pulsation vibe to bring with me?? Picking favorites is hard.
Final Thoughts on Firefly Dream
Wow. This is a really good vibrator. I’m a big fan of air pulse toys, and this one is really great. Especially at the $69.99 price tag that Peepshow Toys is offering it for. I love the cute, discreet design. I love the motors. I love how comfortable it is to hold.
NS Novelties really hit it out of the water with the Firefly Dream. I’d recommend this vibrator to anyone who likes air pulse or “suction” toys. The discreet design makes it safe for people who want to put it on display, though once picked up, people may be able to figure out what it is. It could be a quieter vibrator, but I am lucky that my thick thighs masked some of the noise.
Overall, I like it, like really really like it. The pros absolutely outweigh the cons, in my opinion.
