Texture lovers, get ready! I’ve got HumpToy’s most textured toy, Joy, for review today. It’s got texture, it’s got swells, it’s got a suction cup base, it’s got a blunt tip. Blunt tips are most often found on equine dildos, so I’m really thrilled to share a non-phallic option for all those out there who like a blunt tip but aren’t interested in equine fantasy dildos.
I was surprised by this dildo, as the firmness and size were selected by my wife, who prefers firmer and larger toys than me. It turns out that both of us found a lot of pleasure with Joy. I don’t have all of HumpToy’s dildos (yet), but so far, they’re all winners, each in different ways. I’ve shared some info about HumpToy in the past, so I’m not going to include that here, but I’d encourage you to get to know the brand a bit better by checking out my review of their newest model, Charm.
Meet Joy by HumpToy
With a blunt tip and swirling ridges that run the length of the dildo, Joy by HumpToy is a heavily textured, non-phallic dildo. The design starts semi-flared with a mid shaft swell and a base swell. It is o-ring harness compatible and anal safe. Made with platinum cure silicone, all of HumpToy’s dildos come standard with a suction cup base. Joy can be purchased through inventory drops or as a custom dildo. There are 3 sizes to choose from, with 4 firmness options, 6 pour types and 24 color options. Glow in the dark is available for free, though they will choose the color of the glow in the dark.

My size large Joy is a three color fade in the medium 10A silicone. The firmness is not very squishy or bendy, though it is squeezable. The 10A firmness makes the texture of the swirling pattern intense, where as the softer firmness options will lessen the texture intensity. The size large has the following dimensions:
- Total length: 8.7″ / 22cm
- Insertable length: 7.5″ / 19cm
- Tip diameter: 1.4″ / 3.5cm
- Maximum diameter: 2″ / 5.3cm
- Maximum circumference: 6.7″ / 17cm
- Base diameter: 3″ / 7.5cm

Care Instructions for HumpToy Joy
Since HumpToy uses platinum cure silicone to make all of their beautiful sex toys, cleaning them is very easy. Using warm water and an unscented, antibacterial soap, thoroughly lather up the dildo before rinsing it and allowing it to dry fully before storing it. I was surprised that despite the texture, I never needed to use a brush to clean between the ridges that spiral around the shaft, but you may do so with a soft toothbrush if needed.
Soft silicone does attracted hair, dust, lint, dirt, etc, so it’s important to wash the dildo both before and after each use. Unscented hand soap or dish soap will do the trick, but you can also use a specialty toy cleaner if you prefer. If you need to do a deeper clean, you do have a few options:
- Boil in water for 5-10 minutes, using a silicone cooking utensil to make sure the toy is not resting against the sides or bottom of the pan.
- Soak in a 10% bleach/90% water mixture for 10 minutes then rinse thoroughly (do not boil bleach!)
- Run through the dishwasher on a sanitize setting with no detergent
Deeper cleans aren’t often needed, as platinum cure silicone is a non-porous material. However, you may want to do a deeper clean if you’re selling a toy, sharing a toy with a friend/partner that you are not fluid bonded with, when going from anal use to vaginal use, or if you’ve used an oil lube and the surface texture feels different than normal. Platinum cure silicone can be sanitized, and all of the methods I listed in the above list are ways to properly sanitize the dildo.

Storage and proper use are also important with silicone dildos, as scratches or bites can leave permanent dents in the toy. This doesn’t change the safety, just slightly alters the surface texture. You also shouldn’t store your toys against heavily textured surfaces nor with toys that are not made with platinum cure silicone, like TPE, rubber, jelly, etc.
My Experiences with HumpToy Joy Dildo
As the final piece from my collaboration with HumpToy, the large Joy is my favorite pour of the three toys. Like Charm and Ecstasy, I asked Kenza to surprise me with the pour, and she used my favorite colors to do a beautiful three color fade going from Framboise (11 on the color chart) to Lilas (18) to Lagon (22). Kenza’s pours are absolutely exquisite, and I love each of them that she created for me.
My wife, Cassie, was the one to select Joy as one of the three dildos included in my collaboration with HumpToy. Cassie hoped that the blunt tip and heavy texture would feel good anally, and the dimensions of the size large fit her comfort dildo size. Since she picked it out, I tested the dildo on Cassie first. Cassie loved the texture and the swells that slightly stretched her open while also giving her a sense of fullness. Starting slow is a must for anal users, as the texture is intensified by the firmness of 10A. Allowing Cassie to slowly build up to receiving faster or rougher thrusts was the key to using the dildo on her for longer periods.

As an anal user, Cassie responded really well to the texture and shape of the dildo. Her favorite way to enjoy HumpToy Joy was with long, slow strokes that angled the tip towards her prostate. Once she was fully warmed up, my wife was able to enjoy faster and harder strokes without the textures becoming overstimulating for her.
I find that firm silicones, like 10A, are really easy for inserting anally. Blunt tip dildos, like Joy, can sometimes be a challenge to insert, and I find the easiest way to insert a blunt tip into my wife’s anus is with a lot of lube and at a slight angle. Once a corner has started to enter, I can then slightly adjust while applying pressure, pushing the dildo in slowly. I don’t recommend just pushing the dildo in straight, the way you would with a tapered tip, unless you or your partner’s anus is already fully warmed up.
Hand holding the dildo into Cassie was fun for me as a please domme, and allowed for more of a cock warming experience and/or moving the dildo up and down to hit her prostate rather than thrusting it into her. The suction cup base fit well in the palm of my hand, though I often opted to hold the shaft itself until she felt warmed up enough to take the full length. This also helped me control my excitement so I wasn’t bottoming out in her as early into our play time.

Using the dildo in an o-ring strap-on harness was really nice, thanks to the combination of length and firmness. The firmness of the 10A makes the suction cup feel more steady and secure, and I did not experience any instances of the suction cup popping out of the o-rings. I tried topping Cassie with Joy in my CalExotics Regal Duchess, RodeoH, and Ouch! by Shots harnesses, and Joy handled perfectly in all of them. I did end up preferring the RodeoH and Shots harnesses with Joy, because they all have material behind the o-ring so the suction cup base was never suctioning to my body.
As a vaginal user, when I tried HumpToy Joy, a couple things surprised me: the blunt tip was easier to insert than I expected, and the firmness was actually really enjoyable me (even with all the texture).
I haven’t tried a lot of blunt tip dildos, and the one I tried most recently was Kose, which is thick enough that I needed to insert it at an angle just to actually be able to take the toy. I expected to need a similar angle when inserting Joy, but the tip is small enough that once I was warmed up, I could push the toy straight in. If I wasn’t warmed up, the blunt tip wasn’t as easy to insert, so I had to angle it in so I was getting an edge of the circle inserted first.

Ridges are not always my friend, especially with firm silicones. The swirling ridges on Joy ended up feeling amazing when thrust into me, but only after I was properly warmed up. A good amount of lubrication also helped make the texture more comfortable for me. Using slow thrusts was the key to not getting overstimulated with the texture, but my favorite way to use Joy was by inserting it and using a vibrator externally as I rocked my hips up and down. My thick thighs really come in handy for this, as they can either hold a toy straight or at an angle. When on my back, I liked having the base of the toy below my thighs, giving Joy an angle that allowed for plenty of pressure on my g-spot.
The length was too much for me to take to the hilt, but I did manage to get it inserted all the way to the top part of the lower shaft swell. My wife tends to be a bit too excited when using a dildo on me, which causes her to push a toy as far into me as she can get it. Because of that, I didn’t love having her use the dildo on me, in a harness or otherwise. On the flip side, the extra length is something that I do enjoy having with dildos because it allows me easier hand holding to thrust it into myself. The 10A firmness wasn’t the best for doing this, as it doesn’t bend quite as much as 00-50, so it changes the angle at which the dildo is being thrust. It wasn’t a bad sensation, just not an angle that was ideal for bringing me to orgasm.
As long as the tip was angled towards my belly button, I was able to achieve orgasm very easily. The pressure from the 10A firmness was fantastic for g-spot orgasms, and I really enjoyed the stretching sensation from the mid-shaft swell. I’m a fan of mid-shaft swells, so it was no surprise to me that I’d love Joy’s shaft so much.

Because the 10A firmness made hand-pumping the dildo into myself a bit more challenging if I wanted g-spot stimulation, I did try using the large Joy with my suction cup ergonomic handle. I was a bit worried because the size of the suction cup base is right at the cusp of ergonomic handle plate size, however I was really happy to find that the dildo fit the handle. I had to be a bit careful, because the dildo was right to the edge of the plate, so any lube on the plate or suction cup would cause the dildo to move and the suction seal to pop. I found it easiest to suction the dildo to the handle first, then apply lube to the tip of the dildo and my anatomy. This made me less likely to get lube anywhere that would cause movement and break the seal. The medium and small sizes would be a better fit for the handle.

My Final Thoughts on HumpToy Joy
Even though my wife was the one that picked out Joy from HumpToy’s catalog, I really love the firmness of the 10A and the size large works better for me than I imagined. Cassie really enjoyed using the dildo and having it used on her, while I preferred to use the dildo on myself rather than having her use it on me. I love a good suction cup dildo, as it makes riding and/or using accessibility tools much easier. Kenza did a beautiful job in designing the dildo and I love the pour that she made for us!
Though the texture is very abundant on Joy, with a smaller size or softer firmness, I do think this model is a great option for anyone looking for a non-phallic and/or blunt tip sex toy. I don’t know that I’d recommend this particular model from HumpToy’s catalog to new dildo users, but I would recommend it to those who want to try a textured dildo (specifically in the soft or medium-soft firmnesses).
Ready to get one of your own? I don’t have an affiliate link for HumpToy, but don’t let that stop you from supporting this small business!

I was gifted this dildo and two others as part of a review collaboration with HumpToy in exchange for honest reviews of each toy. Joy is the final toy from our collaboration, and I now have eyes on two of their other models to purchase in the future. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own, as always!
