When it comes to dildos, there’s one design feature that I universally love: a thicker in the middle shaft. It doesn’t matter if it’s a fantasy dildo or a realistic dildo, like Big Daddy Dakota by Dee’s Big Daddies, I’m a sucker for that mid-shaft thickness.

Maybe it’s the delicious feeling of fullness, maybe it’s the easy insert that leads to a slight stretch. Either way, I love them. If/when a brand ever starts making a dual-density dildo that’s sporting that thicker in the middle shaft, it’s over for me. You won’t see me for a week, at least! I’ll be on holiday, basking in pleasure with that dildo, a few of my favorite clitoral vibrators, and a giant bottle of lube.
Before I turn this review into a love letter to all the thicker in the middle dildos, I’ll stop myself so I can introduce you to Dee’s Big Daddies, an indie toy shop specializing in big ol’ dildos.
Come Meet Dee’s Big Daddies
Based in the Milk District in Orlando, Florida, I feel a kind of kinship to Dee’s Big Daddies. It’s probably my longing for a sandwich from either Beefy King or Pom Pom’s (RIP), or dancing to concerts at The Plaza Live, or reading books in the giant Barnes & Noble… I’ve got some pretty fond memories of my time living & working in that very same area.
When it comes to dildos, Dee’s Big Daddies is out there making big, body-safe dicks. All of their dildos are made with body-safe silicone to order. Focusing primarily on realistic dildos, they currently have 11 unique realistic shapes and 4 different fantasy dildos (centaur, dragon, tentacle and werewolf). They have realistic options with balls or without balls, and all their dildos appear to be anal friendly, and some are harness compatible. Most of their dildos are only available in 4 large sizes, but they have 11 options that are also available in “Wee” sizes.

One of the things that I really appreciate about Dee’s Big Daddies is their designs: they’re not “perfect” cocks. Many of their designs feature shafts that lean or curve and some of their dildos with balls have irregular or asymmetrical testicles, for example. I love seeing the representation of what some may call an “imperfect” dick, especially when my favorite dick shape is in so many of their designs (that thicker in the middle shaft design). As I browsed their dildos, I felt like I saw the cocks of some of the people I’ve had sex with represented!
From the looks of Dee’s Big Daddies site, dildos are only available for customization, as I didn’t see any ready-made stock or available inventory listed on their site. Two different density options are available: “Very Soft” Shore 00-30 or “Soft” Shore 00-50. They list Very Soft as “softer than erect tissue” and “Soft” as “more comparable to erect tissue”, letting the customer decide between the two when customizing. Their color chart has 5 realistic skin tones, none of which have cringe-y names, and 20 other non-realistic skin tone options to choose from. You can select up to 3 colors for your custom dildo, and whether or not you’d like a Vac-U-Lock port added (not available on the Wee Daddies). According to their website, orders take 3-7 days to be made before shipping out.

All Eyes on Big Daddy Dakota
Each of the dildos from Dee’s Big Daddies are aptly named “Big Daddy ____,” and today I’m shining light on Big Daddy Dakota. Dakota is a realistic dildo with an uncircumcised, or uncut, design with the foreskin pulled slightly back over the head. To be clear, this is not a sliding skin dildo, it simply has a design that looks uncut! The dildo has subtle, realistic texture that is mostly veiny. There isn’t much skin line texture on the dildo, though there is some around the coronal ridge with the foreskin. I consider the texture of this dildo moderately-low. The product listing says that the dildo is anal safe but not harness compatible (I disagree and I’ll get into why later).
With 4 sizes available on the main listing: Large, XL, XXL, and XXXL. There is also a Wee Daddy Dakota available on a separate listing, bringing the total sizes available up to 5. I got a size Large in the “Soft” Shore 00-50 firmness, which is squishy and feels semi-realistic. The color is “tone a – creampie,” which is the lightest of the realistic skin tones available. Here are the dimensions:
- Total length: 7.5″ / 19.05cm
- Insertable length: 6″ / 15.24cm
- Head circumference: 4.63″ / 11.76cm
- Upper middle shaft circumference (max circumference): 5.63″ / 14.3cm
- Base of shaft circumference (just above the balls): 5.25″ / 13.335cm
- O-ring size recommendation: 2″ / 5.08cm

Let’s Talk Big Daddy Dakota’s Harness Compatibility
So the product listing for Big Daddy Dakota states that the dildo has big balls but is not harness compatible. This is likely because the base, or balls in this case, don’t extend wide enough around the base of the shaft, so there is chance for the dildo to slip out of an o-ring. However, I found that a 2″ / 5.08cm steel o-ring was sufficient for keeping the dildo in place on my Her Royal Duchess harness. Silicone o-rings are stretchy enough that they can slip around the base/balls of the dildo, especially if they are stretched tight.
Sometimes my body type is able to aid me in using a dildo that is not typically strap-on compatible, however I don’t think that is the case this time. When trying the dildo out in different strap-on harnesses and with different o-rings, I found that using The Right Size and Right Material o-ring really mattered a lot more than my belly helping hold the dildo in place.
Additionally, a well fitting harness is important, as the base of the dildo should sit flat against your anatomy without the harness digging in or being too loose. I would not recommend using a panty style harness, like RodeoH or Shots’ Ouch! line of strap-on harnesses, especially if the o-ring is has any sort of stretch or give to it. Of course, with a squishy material, the dildo may very well defy this, but in my experiences with a good harness and a steel o-ring, the squish was not enough to escape or pop out.

Care Instructions for Big Daddy Dakota
It is important to only use water-based lubricants with dildos from Dee’s Big Daddies. They warn that silicone lubes can damage the surface and finish of platinum cure silicone, which may make them unsafe for use. But what they don’t mention is that how you clean your toy is equally important! Some liquid soaps contain silicone, which is just as bad to use on your dildos as silicone lube. Make sure that you’re selecting a soap or toy cleaner that is antibacterial, unscented, and is not made with silicone. If you’re not sure what ingredients are silicone, look for anything ending in -cone and avoid it.
Soft silicones, like shore 00-30 and 00-50, are also quite prone to collecting dust, lint, hair, etc. Make sure that you’re always cleaning your dildos both before and after use to avoid getting any unwanted particles into your body!

The other important part of caring for silicone sex toys is how they’re stored and used. Don’t store your platinum cure silicone sex toys with other toys that are made with non-platinum cure silicone, such as peroxide cured silicone, TPE, jelly, etc. These materials can damage your toy and make them no longer body-safe. You should also avoid storing your dildos against any rough surfaces or heavily textured surfaces, don’t store them bent or smushed, and don’t bite or scratch your toys to avoid damaging them. If you opt to get a vac-u-lock port, use either lubricant or vac-u-lock powder to insert and remove the adapter. Run your finger along the port hole to start gently pulling back the silicone then slowly pull it out.
Getting Down with the Thickness of Big Daddy Dakota
When Dee’s Big Daddies selected this model to send me to review, it was like they read my mind and knew that I’m a lover of uncut dicks with a mid-shaft swell. They do have several other models that I think I’d be quite a big fan of, such Danny, Dante, Diedrich, Duke & Duncan (pretty much all of their models, really). Not all of their models are uncircumcised and not all have a mid-shaft swell, but I love the diversity in shapes.
From the moment I lubed up Big Daddy Dakota and slid it in, I knew this would be a pleasurable affair. The small uncut head made for easy and comfortable insertion, and the mid-shaft thickness gives me that fullness that I love. The product description said this dildo was made for thrusting, and my goddesses, thrusting with this dildo is divine. I loved feeling it thrusting just as much as I loved inserting it and letting it just fill me up while I used a clitoral vibrator.

The texture on Big Daddy Dakota is really gentle, in my opinion. The vein detailing is there, but it’s not very raised. I think the most dramatic texture of the design is the foreskin around the tip of the head, which is still pretty gentle, and the thicker in the middle shaft. For me, this was great, especially at times when I wasn’t looking for a lot of texture.
Had I chosen a dildo or customizations instead of Dee’s Big Daddies selecting one to send me, I probably would have opted for the vac-u-lock port on the base. Without the port, the base of the dildo does fit comfortably in my hand for thrusting it into myself, but with the port, I’d be able to use the vac-u-lock ergonomic handle from SilcArts. That would make thrusting it during masturbation much easier and more comfortable.
As is, when using Dakota for solo play, I skipped thrusting most of the time. The base of the dildo is comfortable to hold onto, even with my grip issues. I just prefer to either insert and enjoy the feeling of fullness, or the ability to use an ergonomic handle to reduce strain on my upper back, neck & shoulders. I was also able to comfortably hold it when thrusting it into someone else, though my position when hand holding it made a lot of difference in comfort on my hand and wrists.

As I mentioned earlier, I did some strap-on testing with Dee’s Big Daddies’ Dakota. While the dildo itself was not a size that Cassie was interested in, we still had a lot of fun with play testing. By “play testing,” what I really mean is trying on a few different types of harnesses and going through the literal motions plus some more exaggerated motions while my wife held onto the dildo. We also had Cassie wear the dildo in her strap-on harnesses, which is how we determined that panty style harnesses aren’t the best option for this particular dildo, nor was it my body shape that was helping keep the dildo in the o-ring in a more traditional style strap-on harness.
Knowing that comparisons are sometimes helpful for people, I have one other toy that is perfect for a 1:1 comparison: Mr Hankey’s El Rey. I have the XS version of El Rey, which similarly comes in 5 total sizes. Though slightly shorter than XS El Rey, the large Big Daddy Dakota has a similar overall design with slightly more girth. El Rey has a lot more horizontal skin lines and the veins are slightly more raised than those on Dakota. While I do maintain that Dakota is harness compatible, El Rey has a base that is less likely to pop out due to shape/design alone. Both Mr Hankey’s Toys and Dee’s Big Daddies are making high quality, silicone extra large dildos, so it really comes down to personal preferences on size, texture, firmness, colorations, and pricing, when choosing between the two brands & their unique models.

Pros:
- Easy to clean
- Made with body-safe, platinum cured silicone
- Customize your size, firmness and colors
- Support a small business in the USA
- Thicker in the middle shaft is great for achieving a feeling of fullness
- Gentle texture
- Uncut/uncircumcised design
- Anal safe
- Can be used with some harnesses, with a steel o-ring specifically
- I appreciate that the realistic skin tones are not named after foods
Cons:
- Soft silicone can be tacky, causing lint, hair, dust, etc to stick to the surface until washed
- Some users may want more dramatic texture
- Not recommended to use with a silicone or stretchy o-ring for strap-on play

The Final Verdict on Dee’s Big Daddies’ Dakota
Overall, I have to say that Big Daddy Dakota was a great first toy from Dee’s Big Daddies. I’m impressed by the quality of the dildo, and if this is a reflection of what to expect from other designs in their line-up, then I have to say that I’ll look forward to trying more of these Daddies. The shape of Dakota is one that really fits my personal tastes, though I do find myself wishing that the texture was a bit more raised. As is, though, I like Dakota especially on days when I’m not wanting a lot of dramatic texture or if I’m feeling tender/sore from using a bigger dildo or taking thicker lover. It’s a really comfortable dildo for me!
For those who are looking for an uncut dildo or are seeking a gentle texture on a realistic dildo, Dakota is a fantastic option, especially since you’re able to choose your size & firmness to best suit your body’s needs. The Wee Daddy Dakota starts at $70USD and the Big Daddy Dakota starts at $99USD. Pricing goes up for additional colors and/or the addition of a vac-u-lock port (not available on the Wee models).
