Chalovelo Thrum Rabbit Vibrator Review

Holy. Moly. What a vibrator. I was not prepared for Thrum by Chalovelo. Honestly, I’m not sure what I was expecting from this vibrator. Sure, I read the product page and watched the gifs of this rabbit vibrator, but experiencing it is absolutely different from looking at it online.

When Chalovelo reached out to me about booking me to review their products, I wasn’t sure they were legit. The email was professional, but their site looked a bit bare at the time. Cautiously, I decided to move forward after seeing some other reviewers I know & trust posting about the brand. A little over 2 months after their first email to me, I’m here writing my first review of one of their products!

Meet Thrum by Chalovelo

Thrum is a rabbit style vibrator made by Chalovelo, and features three stimulators: a come-hither g-spot stimulator, throbbing beads, and clitoral vibrations. To accommodate more anatomies, the external stimulator arm is incredibly flexible, almost feeling hollow to allow for maximum bending, though be warned that it isn’t a posable arm, just flexible & bend. The vibrator boasts two separately controlled motors, each with 10 functions for a total of 20 functions to choose from. Each motor has 3 steady speeds and 7 patterns. Though there are two separate motors that are individually controlled, there is no way to only have one of the two motors going.

Made with body-safe silicone and ABS plastic, the vibrator is rechargeable via magnetic charger to USB cable. It has an IPX6 rating, which means that this vibrator is safe to use in the shower and easy to clean, but you should not fully submerge it in a bathtub, hot tub or pool. The vibrator is a pale shade of peachy-pink and has two buttons located on the front side of the vibrator, below the clitoral stimulator arm. The bottom button is the power button, while the top one switches the vibration frequency. It weighs about 270g, or 9.52oz, and has the following dimensions:

  • Total length: 24.7cm / 9.72″
  • Insertable length: 13.5cm / 5.31″
  • Insertable diameter: 3.4cm / 1.33″
  • Insertable circumference: 11cm / 4.33″

Charging & Caring for Thrum

When Thurm arrives at your doorstep, it will likely have a small amount of charge. This is normal, and you should wait to use the vibrator until you’ve given it time to fully charge. A full charge should take about 150 minutes, which gives you up to 50 minutes of use. To charge the device, plug the included USB cord into a USB port or charging block, then attach the magnetic charger to the device. The charging port is located on the bottom, backside of the handle. While charging, the buttons will flash. Once fully charged, the lights will cease flashing and instead glow steadily.

Even if you experience natural wetness, lubricant is always a great tool to have on hand to make sure you’re comfortable. Chalovelo recommends only using water-based lubricants with this vibrator. Since the vibrator is water-resistant, cleaning it is very easy. Simply use your preferred toy cleaner or an unscented, antibacterial soap and wash the device with warm water. It’s important to wash your device both before and after each use!

How to Use Thrum by Chalovelo

Once you’ve fully charged the device, using Chalovelo’s Thrum rabbit vibrator is really easy. Use your favorite water based lubricant to lube up both the internal and external stimulators, then insert the g-spot stimulator, and press and hold the bottom button on the handle to turn the device. After you’ve inserted the vibrator and turned it on, the top button will control the vibrations on the clitoral stimulator, while the power button doubles as control of the internal stimulator. Quick presses of either button will cycle through the functions so you can personalize your pleasure.

There is not a way to only have one motor going at a time, so both motors will run together simultaneously.

My Experiences with Chalovelo’s Thrum Vibrator

Ok, so confession time: sometimes, I don’t read the manual before using a vibrator. I just dive right in and hope for the best. That’s exactly what I did with Thrum. The first two or three times I used the device, I only ever used the top button to increase vibration frequency on the clitoral stimulator because I didn’t realize that the bottom button could also change the frequency of the internal stimulator. Thankfully, I quickly learned my mistake so I could experience the vibrator to its full potential.

It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a rabbit vibrator, though I admit that I am a fan of dual and triple stimulators. For me, they’re typically the easiest type of vibrator to use hands-free, thanks to the fact that most rabbit vibrators have a handle and I can often use my thick thighs to keep the vibrator in place. Chalovelo’s Thrum rabbit vibrator was no exception to this, with a thick handle that was easy to hold firmly in place by my thighs. It didn’t matter what position I used the vibrator in, my thighs kept it perfectly placed even if my gorilla grip pussy tried to push it out during orgasm.

Maybe that doesn’t sound like a big deal, but this vibrator was one that once I started orgasming, it was like I could not stop. The cycle of tightening and relaxing my muscles between orgasms, whether voluntarily or not, just kept the cycle going. Over and over and over again. I couldn’t believe the insane levels of pleasure my body was experiencing! The combination of the throbbing beads, the come hither motion of the head and the clitoral vibrations just worked for me. It was incredible. I don’t know the last time I tried a vibrator that kept me orgasming until I couldn’t take it anymore, but this one did!

As I used Chalovelo’s Thrum, I realized that I don’t remember ever using a throbbing vibrator before. I’ve tried thumpers and gyroscopics and heated and pulsators, but throbbing is new for me to actually use. I have fiddled with throbbing vibrators at tradeshows like Altitude and AEN, which made me very interested in them, though this is the first one I’ve experienced. I really enjoyed the sensation, and the beaded texture felt really pleasurable as it throbbed inside of me.

The throb partnered with the come-hither motion was crazy good. Add in that steady clitoral vibration and I just lost my goddamn mind, ya’ll. The come-hither motion on the g-spot/a-spot stimulator had me writhing in pleasure every time I used the vibrator. I loved it while on my back and while on my front. On my side in a sort of spoon like position wasn’t for me, even though it’s one of my favorite sex positions. Even using the vibrator standing while in the shower felt fantastic and I felt myself gushing over and over again.

My biggest complaint about the vibrator is that it’s not very quiet. Even with a heavy blanket over me, the vibrator was audible from outside the room with the door open. With the door closed, it was audible only when near the door. After stepping away from the door, I could no longer hear the vibrator after ~1.5ft of distance.

This last critique is a little less about the vibrator and more about the user experience of shopping on the site. You can easily hit the “Buy Now” button on the homepage list, which will then open the product page. Rather than having a “Buy Now” button on the product page, it instead says “Shop Now.” I know this a minor detail, but confusing shopping experiences aren’t ideal for customers nor brand trust. They’ve improved the site since they first reached out to me, but this is one detail that they’ve missed that rubs me the wrong way as a consumer and as a reviewer.

Pros:

  • Triple stimulation that work together for maximum pleasure
  • Rechargeable
  • Water-resistant IPX6
  • 2 year service & 5 year warranty
  • 10 functions per motor for a total of 20 functions to choose from
  • Separate motor control to personalize your pleasure

Cons:

  • Tt’s not the quietest vibrator and has a bit of a squeak to it
  • Shopping the Chalovelo’s site can be a bit confusing (Shop Now vs Buy Now)
  • I wish there were more than 3 steady speeds on the clitoral motor specifically
  • Can only be used with both motors running
  • I’d love for a longer runtime per charge

Final Thoughts on Chalovelo Thrum Vibrator

Overall, I’m pretty impressed by Thrum by Chalovelo. It’s not perfect, given the noise of the device and the 50 minute runtime, but this vibrator had me orgasming faster than any vibrator I’ve tried recently. I don’t even know if I need a longer than 50 minute runtime, given how quickly I was able to orgasm. The combination of throbbing, come-hithering, and vibrations are top tier and I really enjoyed the pleasure I achieved with this vibe every single time I used it.

The flexibility of the external arm makes this rabbit vibrator a potentially good option for more people, and I think the size of it is fairly approachable for those who are experienced with using sex toys. The triple stimulation that Thrum provides is perhaps more advanced, but overall, I do think this toy could be used by just about anyone with a vulva as long as they use plenty of lubricant and give themself (or receive) a good warm-up prior to penetration.
