I’m always so happy when a rabbit hops across my desk to review. I love rabbit vibrators, but the Maia Hunni isn’t your normal rabbit vibrator. It’s just rabbit shaped! 🐰
My first introduction to Maia Toys was because of their 2-in-1 vaporizer vibrator combo, the Vaporator, that came out about 2 years ago. I loved the unique & silly idea of a vibrator I could use on someone while simultaneously hitting the vape. Since then, I’ve tried a few of Maia Toys unique offerings, including the recently reviewed Tegan thrusting suction cup dildo. I was really happy to have another one of their fun toys come my way 😍
Get to Know Maia Hunni
The rabbit shaped Maia Hunni vibrator is a 3-in-1 vibrator with a fluttering tongue on the base, a tapping air pulsation on the mouth, and vibrating bunny ears. There are 2 independently controlled motors with 15 functions: 3 steady speeds and 12 vibrating patterns. One motor controls the ears while the other controls the pulsing and fluttering.
Made with body-safe silicone, this vibrator is fully submersible and rechargeable. The silicone has virtually no drag. It’s about 4.7″x2.25″x2″ and weighs 3oz. Hunni is only available in hot pink.
Included in the box are the vibrator, a magnetic charging cord, a care instructions & registration card, and a satin storage bag.
What I Liked:
- Waterproof submersible & rechargeable
- Body-safe silicone is super smooth with no drag
- Good for beginners or those looking for low intensity vibrators
What I Didn’t Like:
- The suction “mouth” hole is on the small side & not ideal for people with large clits
- Uncomfortable to hold when using the fluttering tongue
- Flat base where the fluttering tongue is, is not ergonomic
- Not good for people who like a lot of intensity
Care Instructions
Since Maia Hunni is fully submersible, it is safe to use the shower or bathtub, and it’s easy to clean. You can wash this with a gentle, unscented soap or your preferred toy cleaner. Be sure to clean before and after each use. Allow the vibrator to fully dry before storing.
To charge the vibrator, plug the magnetic charging cord into a USB brick and attach the magnets to the back of the vibrator. The buttons on the belly of the rabbit will light up and slowly pulse while charging, then glow steady once fully charged.
Charging should take about 2 hours with a run time of 40 minutes. Maia makes note on their care instructions card to specify that you should not overcharge the vibrator by leaving it charging for more than 3 hours.
How to Use the Vibrator
On the front of the vibrator, you’ll find 2 buttons on the belly. The top button, closest to the mouth, controls the ear vibrations. The bottom button controls the suction and tongue. To turn the vibrator on, press and hold either button for about 3 seconds. To turn off the vibrator, press and hold the same button for 3 seconds.
When I had both motors powered on, I didn’t notice an increase in intensity on the suction or tongue. Having both motors running simultaneously seemed to shorten the battery life by a bit, so IMO, there’s no reason to have both going at the same time.
My Time with Maia Hunni
My first thought about the Maia Hunni was that it’s very cute, but I can’t trust my cuteness radar to tell me what’s a good or bad vibrator. It’s not quite as discreet as the Unihorns – Maia Hunni is very clearly a sex toy, IMO.
I had high hopes for this little rabbit. I liked the design and the three different ways to stimulate. I was excited for those vibrating ears. But for me, I found this vibrator a bit lacking in power.
I tried the ears first. I hoped they would have a combined sensation of the JimmyJane Form 2 and the Le Wand Flick attachment, which to give Maia credit, that is what it felt like just with a smaller total surface area. At the first touch, I loved those pointy tips on the ears, but as I positioned the vibrator into a more comfortable position in my hand and against my anatomy, I couldn’t quite get it again. Even when I pulled away then tried again, that initial feeling just didn’t come back. So I tried increasing the intensity. I tried moving it around. I just couldn’t make those ears work for me. I think the vibrations just don’t travel up the ears well enough and I wanted more intensity than what this vibrator was able to give me.
After I unintentionally edged myself with the ears, I flipped it and tried the tongue. For me, this was the most pleasurable of the three stimulation options, but it was also the least comfortable to hold. My short arms and big belly combo put me at a disadvantage here. The hole on the base is more oval shaped than the one on the mouth and the fluttering tongue does feel really, really nice. I did find the base uncomfortable to hold against my body. The flat base is not ergonomic and is quite wide, so with my meaty labia, it just didn’t quite feel like it fit right.
Finally, I tried the suction mouth. The head is a lot more ergonomic and much more comfortable against the body than the base. The body of the rabbit is also comfortable to hold on to, even as someone with grip issues. Again, I found that the intensity just wasn’t strong enough. I need to have it on full power to get off, and it took me far longer to get off than more powerful suction toys.
I wish Maia would have given us 5 intensities instead of 3. I’d happily sacrifice some of those patterns in leu of more power. I appreciate the ambition of a 3-in-1 vibrator, but I just found it lacking in power and therefore lacking in achieving my pleasure. I’d prefer a 2-in-1 with stronger motors and a more comfortable fit against the body over the Maia Hunni.
Final Thoughts
Now, it is important to mention that I do like more intense vibrations than some. I’m not the person to reach for a wand most of the time, but I do need more vibration than this particular vibe. I do think that this vibrator would be ideal for someone who doesn’t like a lot of intensity or is a beginner to using vibes. It would also make a good first toy for someone whose curious about suction toys or fluttering tongue toys.
This may be a perfectly great vibrator for someone, but I’m not that someone.
Coming in at $50, the price is pretty good for this vibe. It’s a well made toy that’s seamless and incredibly smooth. Maia really has some beautiful silicone for their toys and I love it.
