LELO Dot Vibrator Review

The first time I saw a LELO product, I was in awe. I was freshly 18 and checking out my local adult store in Orlando. I was sold on them just by testing them in my hand in the store, though I cannot for the life of me remember which toys I swooned over back in the day. I couldn’t afford the luxury price tag of any of the LELO devices, but I knew one day I’d get one.

Fast forward to 2024, and I have a handful of LELO products in my collection, including the SONA 2 Cruise, DOT, LELO Beads Noir, and INA.

For years, LELO was the luxury vibrator brand in my mind. They’re no longer the only luxury brand, but they’re still absolutely a leader in creating luxury vibrators. When I was gifted the LELO DOT, I was very excited to try it out!

Let’s Talk About the LELO DOT

LELO DOT is a clit vibrator with a flexible, narrow, pinpoint tip designed to stimulate external erogenous zones. It’s marketed as an “Elliptical Clitoral Stimulator” having “Infinite Loop” technology that mimics an infinity symbol, which results in a sweeping motion of pleasure across your clitoris.

Made with body-safe silicone and ABS plastic, the LELO DOT is available in pink, lilac and aqua, all with LELO’s signature chrome accent. It’s 2.4″x 1.8″x6.5″ in size, and weighs 3.5oz.

This vibrator is fully waterproof submersible, and can be used in the bath or shower, if desired.

Included in the box are a charging cord, storage bag, warranty registration card and the instruction manual. LELO includes a 1 year warranty, in which they will replace your product if it is faulty within 1 year of purchase. If the device is faulty more than 1 year after purchase, LELO will give you a 50% discount on your next one.

Pros:

  • Waterproof & rechargeable
  • Storage bag included
  • Very pinpointed stimulation
  • Luxurious feeling silicone & packaging
  • 8 vibration modes each have a range of intensities
  • Moderately quiet
  • Flexible tip
  • Travel Lock

Cons:

  • “Infinite Loop” just felt like circles to me, not an infinity symbol
  • Not an affordable vibrator for many
  • Buzzy
  • May feel ticklish to some users

Care Instructions

To charge the LELO DOT, insert the DC plug into the DC port at the base of the device. While charging, the LED lights on the buttons will slowly pulse. Once it is fully charged, the lights will glow steadily. Charging can take up to 2 hours, and each charge is good for at least 2 hours of use.

The great news about LELO products is they use the same type of charging ports across all their devices, which also applies to products from their sister company, FOREO.

It’s recommended to only use the LELO DOT with water-based or hybrid lubricants, as silicone-based lubes can make the silicone turn tacky.

How to Use LELO DOT

After your vibrator has fully charged for about 2 hours, press and hold the middle button that looks like this: (()). Once it’s on, use the middle button to switch between 8 different modes, and the +/- buttons to increase or decrease the intensity. Press and hold the middle button again to power off.

To use the travel lock, press and hold the + and – buttons for 5 seconds. A blinking light will confirm that you locked or unlocked the device.

You can use the loop to hold or grip the handle, and place against external erogenous zones or inserted into the vagina. The tip can be used for direct contact or can be laid against your clit for somewhat less pinpointed stimulation.

My Experiences

I’m a big fan of pinpoint stimulation when it comes to clitoral stimulation. I much prefer it over a wider stimulation surface, like a wand. The DOT vibe is very, very pinpointed! The tip is half a centimeter wide, easily the most pinpointed toy in my collection!

The DOT certainly lives up to LELO’s reputation for having some of the best sex tech out there. It’s not very loud, though not the quietest clit vibe either. The range of vibration modes and intensities are nice, though I always prefer more intensities with fewer modes. It feels luxurious in hand, though it is quite lightweight.

LELO promises to deliver multiple orgasms when using the DOT, and while that may be the case for some, I just wasn’t quite able to get there. It felt great! But I found myself wishing that the half centimeter tip was a bit bigger for a wider stimulation surface. I achieved orgasm, but the tip is so small that after one, I just needed something bigger.

The size of the LELO DOT is perfect for partner play, though. The handle isn’t big enough to be intrusive, as a plus size person using this with a non-plus size person. The shaft of LELO DOT is thin enough that it doesn’t get in the way either. Because of how tiny the tip is, I much preferred to be the one holding this against myself rather than letting my partner hold it against me.

Feeling adventurous, I decided to try using the LELO DOT as a tickle tool. Tickling is a widely popular fetish, and I know many folks out there seek tools to enhance tickling sensations. This got me. It fucking got me. Specifically, it got me laughing and squirming and begging for no more tickles as it was held against the soles of my feet. As a tickle tool, this absolutely works.

Final Thoughts

Despite only getting one orgasm in before I wanted something bigger, I like the LELO DOT clit vibrator.  It’s not super loud, it’s got a wide range of intensities, it’s got pinpoint stimulation, it feels luxurious in hand.

It’s a good, luxury vibrator. Period.

That being said, this vibrator is not for people who prefer the strength of wands. It’s not for people who dislike pinpoint stimulation. It’s not for people on a budget. It’s not for people who like a wide/broad stimulation surface.

The power button did bother me because if the travel lock is not turned on, a quick press turns the vibe on. There’s no press and hold to power on, which is unfortunate.

At full price of $179, I don’t know that I’d buy this vibrator. It’s good, but at $179, I’d prefer something with a bit more power and a wider stimulation surface. However, LELO often lists the DOT on sale for 30% off ($125.30), which is a bit more reasonable. I am, admittedly, a bargain hunter/shopper, and tend to buy my luxury items when they’re on sale. You’re definitely paying a premium for the luxury sex tech brand.

LELO really did a great job with this vibe. It’s comfortable to hold, not overwhelming power wise, and didn’t leave my clit feeling numb after usage. It’s a good vibe and if you’re someone who likes pinpoint stimulation, this is a great one to get!
